When I used to eat rice, I used to mix it with milk and sugar or make it into rice pudding. Of course, if you are using wild rice, this might not taste that good. But, for traditional white rice, it tastes great. We used to eat this all the time when I was a kid and I'm surprised that no one here has suggested this.

Use for kneading the dough to make delcious crisp Paranthas. MALAI VADA INGREDIENTS Rice 250 gms Badam 25 gms Milk 1 ltr Chhuhara 50 gms Sugar 150 gms Coconut 25 gms Chiranjee Dana 25 gms Ghee for deep frying Kishmish 25 gms Water for boiling rice METHOD Boil the rice. Grind it after it cools down. Chop the dry fruits and keep aside. Put the milk onto boil and let it thicken. Simultaneously heat ghee in a kadahi. Make about 15-20 balls of rice and stuff with the dry fruits (leave some dry fruits for garnishing). Give the desired shape and fry on low flame to a golden brown color. Transfer directly to the thickened milk and turn off the gas. Leave it for 5 minutes. Carefully transfer to the serving plate. Pour milk and garnish with the left-over dry fruits. Makes: 15-20 vadas.

Fried rice is what we usually do at it, we add pieces of meat or other vegetables like carrots and peas. Plain garlic rice is also good, just add some spices and salt to taste it. To find more recipes, you can also check this site http://www.cooks.com/rec/search/0,1-0,leftover_rice,FF.html. Hope this helps, enjoy your cooking..

They say that reheating boiled rice is someting you shouldnt do...but it does make you wonder why its worse than heating many other things...but thats why ive always been a bit wary about doing anything with the leftover rice..but the one thing that i find its good for is bulking out our little dogs meal....he likes it...added to his pet food..he also loves pasta added to his meal too!!!

True boiled Rice may contain bacteria that make you very ill if you store it too long. Just like all food let it cool down before putting it into an airtight bag or box and then put it into your fridge. Don't keep it there too long though! In the case of the suggestions for the egg-fried rice and stir fries that were posted here you should remember that the key to getting a good result is to use rice that has cooled down first.

I love chili over rice. I would make a nice pot of chili and eat them together, yum. It could also be thrown in a soup.

hi wisconsin. i usually add meat, veggies, and egg to make a wonderful stir-fry rice. with the current rice shortage we're experiencing in the philippines, i make sure that none of the left-over rice is wasted. yummy!!!

We used to put water in the night on the left over rice and used to have it in the next day. It is very tasty and makes the body cool during the summer time. I like it very much. Another thing to do with left over rice is to make it lemon rice or tomato rice mixing various things in it and fry it and take it.

Usually we make fried rice with leftover rice, we would mix it with hotdog bits, or corned beef, add egg and a bit of salt. You can also add green peas or corn kernels depending on how to want it to taste. Some people would even add meat or shrimp. There are so many ways to cook fried rice, its actually a known chinese dish

How did you serve it the first time? You can make fried rice. If you served it plain originally, of course you could do the same again, or chop some veggies, add a little butter and heat it up again. You can make soup with it, or add to a soup you already have. How about stuffed peppers?

I made a hamburger gravy and put that over the top of the rice which was great... That's normally what I do with the rice or just put button on it with some salt and pepper.. Never had stuffed peppers before, that's well worth a try for sure.. You have some great ideas thank for reply!

There are many things that you can do with left over rice. Make some rice pudding. I personally perfer portugeuse rice pudding over traditional white rice pudding. It is much nicer. Another thing you can do is make up some fried rice. Throw in some veggies like peas and carrots and throw in some sort of meat wheather it be chicken, pork, etc. Throw in some soya sauce, bragg or some seasoning salt and your all set. Another thing you can do is throw it in a container and freeze it. Next time you want rice you can use it up. Don't leave too long in the freezer though.

Yes, I would say fry it with some onions, soy sauce, butter, and some frozen mixed veggies - then fry an egg in there with it and you've got some fried rice! YUM. Personally though I try to make only enough for that meal because it always gets so hard and I don't always feel like fried rice.

I think I learned my lesson on making so much rice at one time... But the truth is my husband is a big eater and I thought he would have seconds but I was wrong.. I am normally a small one and don't eat much at all.. So I knew I wasn't going to finish the rice off... Those are some idea's also! Thanks for your reply!

Here in the Philippines we cook our left-over in a so called "Sinangag". Heres what you will do - First fry a scrambled egg then set aside, then fry the rice with butter, union and garlic, mix it with scambled egg, and any left over hot dog, bacon or spam, season it to your taste with salt. Try it, taste so yummy!

I use any leftover rice to make fried rice usually cuz that's one of my favorite things and I love it. Once in a while I will throw the leftover rice into a pot of homemade soup. A few times I've even made Spanish rice with my leftover rice. It was good that way but I do prefer fried rice the best.

I used it with milk, spice and sugar. I add some milk, sugar to taste and a little spice and let it simmer and cool. then I sppon it on a plate and eat it. I call that milk and rice, some call it rice pudding. You can use your left over rice and mix it with beans from the cans, like red beans.
