I use timers on two of our lamps to keep lights on all night. I alternate the times so the floor lamp on our lower level stays on from midnight to 5am and the other one upstairs in our living room to go on at 8pm and run until midnight. I feel safer having lights on all the time after dark. Right now I have 40 watt bulbs in both but most of the time 60 watt bulbs. It doesn't cost much to do this. Do you use times on any lights in your house or outside?

I have a few timers but never use them. Last time I used them was 8yrs ago for some christmas lights outside.

We have motion censor lights. If someone tries to come near our house, the lights come on. It works for seeing if wild animals are on my porch or any bad guys. It also comes in handy when I come home at night with groceries in my hand. My family tends to use the motion censor lights to help us with seeing steps, too, at night. I've thought about light timers for illuminating the house for when I come home from work, but I seem to change jobs so often that I'd be constantly changing the timers. My current job I only come home at night if I stay after to shop or in the winter. Take care
