I read about an African grey parrot in Tokyo who got out of his cage and got lost. He wound up being rescued by the police who were surprised to hear him tell them his name, address and telephone number. He was returned to his family... Isn't that amazing... Someone taught the bird its name, address and telephone numbe. Have you ever taught an animal how to do anything?

That is great... at least you trained them to come to you. There are some who do not do this.

I'm not sure I can top that story, but I did teach my Persian to speak German. No one believed me, but I know Indiana Jones understood me. It was so funny to take him to the vets and talk to him in German. I got several confused looks!

That is cool! It is funny that you share that as I just heard that the scientists have done studies and have found that the birds from different parts of the world have a different call and different language... So a crow from the Bronx would speak differently than a crow from India or London.

It sure was good for this one parrot. I don't think that many others know their name and telephone number... grins. Thanks for posting.

When I was a kid I used to enjoy playing with Dogs and Cats and watch Birds go about their Life. There was this Dog in our locality.I used to teach it to raise its legs when asked for a Handshake. That was about the only time in my life I taught anything to an animal.

That is great! You taught a dog to shake hands. That means that you paid attention to that dog and made it happier because of that attention.
