How do you get rid of a lawn mole?

We have noticed some mole holes and this is actually our first time ever getting moles. I'm not sure how to get rid of a mole. But is there any way you can get rid of one?

I had a Golden Retriever named Bailey's Irish Creme. I don't know how she did it, but she always knew where to find those moles. She's passed on now, so I can't loan her out.
Sorry for the flip answer, I don't have any facts, just a funny story. Please forgive my exuberance!

Well, we are planning on filling the holes the mole made with smoke bombs, to scare the mole off. What do you think?
