I don't understand why a native american can't speak English well, your dad, ah, instead he can speak chinese well? the memory of childhood is nice, so I quess Shanghai was a nice and strongly impressed on your memory. China is a big scenic spot, I and my wife love to drive 4WD vehicle to have a trip each year. if you miss Shanghai, welcome to visit it again, and there are many ancient villages somewhere around Shanghai. Thank you for reply.

so, you should talk to your dad very ofter in English, in case of forgeting about it. I'd like to listen to people who can speak English well, nice voice, English speaking native people is the best, since I have no foreign friends in Shanghai, I just listen to radio broadcasting English programs whenever I can.

As a western man who has visited Shanghai, It's not that difficult but not fully easy either to travel in shanghai. Of course I was different in that I speak (and write) chinese good. I would for sure reccomend a guide if you are coming to Shanghai for the first time. At least for the first day or tw.

on the one hand the more and more western people can use chinese to communicate with others in Shanghai, that's a good thing. on the other hand I know many foreign people have a trouble in Shanghai while they visit it, how to help them and whether I have any ability to help them. I really want to develope English, and so I start to get in mylot for writing and learning it. I start this topic for someone who need me to help them, thank you for reply.

I've traveled to Kunming ,city of Yunnan province .I think the biggest trouble with foreigner when travel to shanghai or any cities of china : it's so hard to find way or a place ,or go sightseeing because any information supported in chinese and no one use english . When i traveled ,I can' use english ,but I have no word in chinese ,so it's hard for me . If u can use english ,u can do as a volunteer for foreigner .It's the way we do in Hanoi and I think it useful

Thank you. It will be my honor if I would be a volunteer. I'll try my utmost. As a young generation, we are intensely patriotic , we will do it what we should do although there many barriers on the way. That's our duty!

Shanghai is second city in China, am I wrong? Well. I saw Shanghai City in many china's movie. I thought Shanghai City became most popular town in Asia. Can we go travel in Shanghai with cheap price? I hope we can do it, cause I have plan to visit your city.
