A sure and long-lasting way to ensure your fingernails remain hard and healthy is to take GELATIN capsules/tablets.I had acrylic nails on for over 20 years, had short and weak nails that just would not grow and continually were breaking and tearing.GELATIN capsules taken and after 4 weeks I now have strong, health and LONGISH nails.NATURAL way to give our hands beautiful nails again.

Gelatin capsules? This is the first time I heard of that. If you have really proven this effective then I think I'd give gelatin capsules a try. I hope I can easily find them in my favorite health store. Thank you for this tip.

Hi. I do have long finger nails and luckily, they never break. I don't know if you can call these as my regiments to keep them strong and healthy but I always moisturize my hands with lotion or oil, usually before going to bed. I also wear nail polish. If I have to do a lot of handwashing, I wear gloves. I'm not sure if these steps help protect my nails. Regarding your fingernails that easily break, you might want to see a doctor and check if you have some underlying health problems because our fingernails hold clues to our health conditions. Anyway, good luck with growing your nails. :)

Well I am very healthy and have no health issues whatsoever. It is just that my nails are really think and can't be grown longer. I also do regularly use hand cream or lotion and wear gloves when working. I think these have been really helpful. Thanks for these reminders.

There are nail hardener polishes available in the market. My mom use it often. I don't know about the other home remedies. Also, take a lot of calcium and protein. When I was pregnant, my nails usually breaks and I would have to double my calcium tablet intake or take more milk.

I never knew there are nail hardeners! Anyway I think calcium will really help. I am not very interested with mil so I'd rather consume more vegetables that are rich in calcium. I think green leafy vegetables are the answer. Thanks for your advice.

Hi salonga, Well I am also always on the search for ways to strengthen my nails. I recently read one about rubbing garlic on your fingernails to make them stronger and leaving it for a while before washing it off. I have yet to try it. I'm actually dreading the smell they'll leave and what am I gonna do while they are on my fingers?! I don't want other items smelling like garlic! I think I may try one of the suggestions from the first poster myself...

I used to do that. A neighbor told me to use garlic and I did. However, I find it too messy and yes the smell I could not really tolerate. Anyway, maybe I'd try again if I can tolerate garlic this time around. Thanks for the reminder.

Wear nailpolish regularly. Nailpolish will protect your nails. After a while you will notice that they are stronger and longer. Make sure you use rubber gloves when washing the dishes and doing other household chores that require water. Keeping your nails out of water will help a lot. Also you can try taking a vitamin suplement formulated for nails.

I do wear rubber gloves when washing dishes and clothes or any chores that make use of water. Indeed water can weaken nails so I really have to protect them from too much water exposure. I've long been avoiding nail polish on my fingers because I noticed make my nails brownish.

Yes those vitamins are helpful. I've been taking them on a regular basis that's why I have a very strong immune system. As for my think finger nails, I think I need more than these vitamins. But anyway, thank your for caring to give your advice on this subject.
