As of now i feed my child - Cerelac, Sago cooked in milk, Rice and pulses kedigree. Is there anything else that i can give my child to change his taste. Can I start giving him eggs and chicken or mutton from now? If i can,how should i cook it. I am scared to give him eggs as some kids are allergic to eggs. Other than these, is there anything simple, easy and tasty for my kid? Incase you all know anything ,please post me the recipies. He simply dislikes eating the same thing over and over. Please help.

If your child is 1 - he really should be eating a lot more than the basic baby items. Try him with scrambled eggs, spaghetti or instant noodles are ALWAYS good & kids have a lot of fun eating them. By now he should also be having normal things like toast - try making him some toast, cut off the crusts & put whatever you want on there (except Peanut Butter coz they recommend you not give it kids under 2) - cut the toast in to little soldiers/fingers & let him go! You'll be very surprised at what kids are capable of at that age. If you're talking about other meals - you can give him basically anything, my daughter always loved Brocoli - as long as it was steamed (which made it nice & soft) - but leave it in big heads - they'll just suck or chew on it & it's soft enough not to choke on. Mashed potato is EXCELLENT, carrot sticks (steamed of course), you can even try fish fillets - just take the outer batter off - it will crumble in their mouth & is easy to chew & so on. Good luck & if you're still concerned, ask your Dr but by the age of 1 - they really should be eating normal, solid foods :) Even at 6 - 9 months toast fingers, biscuits & such are fine!

Oh & fruit is AWESOME, banana is sweet & soft, slices of orange will work, peaches, nectarines etc - they're all soft - my daughter is a NUT for grapes! Oh, just avoid apple for a while longer! Make sure you do more veggies than fruits or you could end up with a fussy child who only likes the sweet items!

Babies have excellent gag reflexes but if the foods are soft enough they wont have ANY problems. Another thing you could try (that i just realised i didn't put in my reply) is Fish Fingers (not sure what you call them there though - maybe fish sticks?), if you're still worried, take off the batter & they're in perfect sized pieces already for little fingers! At this age, they can eat basically everything you do - so there's no need for you to cook your son separate meals :) chicken is soft & tender as well - give it a shot! Thanks for the best response too - i just hope that my info is helpful for you & the development of your son's motor skills!!!

Wow,your baby girl pratically eats everything! Thank you so much for you suggestion. I really like all the ideas that you have put down here for me. I sure would start giving my child these foods. I am very scared that he would choke, thats the reason i avoid giving him other things to eat.

Well eggs wouldnt digest well for the little one. you could try this soak 3 almonds in cup of water for say an hour or 2 remove the almond skin and cook the almonds with a cup of rice till the rice and almond get cooked very well...may be then you can even just put this mixture into a mixer or grinder so you have a paste like cerelac....ur little one may like the taste of almonds with rice...my little one loves this...they put on good weight and look healthy too...

hi my kid started eating biriyani when he was 10 months old. when the kid is about 9 to ten months old his intestine and digestive system is quite fully developed. So i think you can start him off with all kinds of light foods. but whatever you start start off in small quantities. you can also give him fruits like bananas and apples {peeled}. you can give him vegetable soup too . Hope this was helpful

Hi there is alot of stuff you can give you 1yr old. I give my daughter who is 1yr baked dinners, chops, cuttlets, eggs, full cows milk as a drink. At this age you can give your child anythink you eat but of course not bones and not salmon. But this age he shouuld have the compatibility to eat and chew properly. If your worried go to your doctors.
