Just finished commenting to 80 responses...

I just finished commenting to all the 80 responses to one of my discussions... it actually took me four days to do that... and every letter and word was worth it... now i am quite tired... but responses to my other discussions keep coming... so i need to read and comment again... Have you ever experience this sort of thing?... do you comment to all the responses to your discussion... or do you only chose those responses that appeal to you... I know that there are those who do not even bother to comment... but that is their choice... in my case i love doing it... my way of showing appreciation to all those who took time to read and respond to my discussions...

Well done! I only reply to those responses that I have anything to say to other than "thanks for responding" because I think that that is a little bit pointless and I don't think it is a "good post".

That's the same for me. It's a lot of work when you have a few discussions daily with a ton of responses. When deemed fit I add a comment to the responses. I seldom add a few word comment. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I used to do that... but since i have all the time in the world when i am in the office... i just thought... why not comment on all the responses... when the response is not exactly attune to my discussion... i try to persuade the member who made it to be elaborate more... and most of the time... they do... thanks for the response...

I don't mind responding to my discussions and if I have the time I do it. Its hard to balance working full time and answering to more responses than you expected to get. I don't delete them from my emails though and when I have time I eventually get to them. Even if its a month later. LOL.

Commenting to responses to one's discussion can be quite difficult... especially when one is busy with job and family... so the main recourse is to just choose a respond to comment to... which i think is also okay... as long a one does not leave a discussion behind without looking back... thanks for the response...

I try to comment back to everyone that replies to my discussions. Sometimes though I do skip a few. Espically if they answer it back with one or two words. I figure there is not much sense in wanting to answer them back espically if they only say yes or no. I have had a few do this to me. I always reply with yes what? or No what? I never get a reply though.

I know I get a little upset with one word reponses. Or one line responses that seem very rude. I get these myself a lot.If I was just going to say yes or no or make a one line comment I wouldn't bother ansering the response myself. So I understand how you feel.

Some new or not so new members have this habit of giving one or two word responses... believing that that will give them the .01 cents... sometime i bother to comment... sometimes i don't... depending on my mood... but there are time when they would actually come back to elaborate on their response... thanks for the response...

When you get that many responses, it is quite tiring. I don't feel I need to answer them all, because mylot cautions us about using the same words like 'thanks' or 'good response.' They say in their guidelines that can get a discussion deleted. I know everyone doesn't expect me to respond to their comments, but if I have something more to say than just thanks, I'll make sure to reply to them. But I read each and every response. I think it is admirable that you do too.

I would never be able to come up with 80 different replies to each response. You must have a talent!

Commenting to each response is not actually an obligation for us to do... but i do it anyway as a form of showing appreciation... and i don't just say thank you... but i would always agree or disagree with the person... but in a nice way of course... thanks for the response...

First of all, congratulations on having a discussion topic that is that interesting! I can't seem to do topics that interesting! LOL! And, second, congrats on responding to all of them. I am a firm believer in showing my appreciation in the same way. I don't pick and chose whom I respond to. I don't think it is fair to respond to some and ignore others as, like you, I appreciate the fact that people took the time to read and respond to my discussion and, to pick and chose whom I think deserves a response would be a slap in the face to others.

That you very much... one reason why i started doing this was because i got slightly hurt... when i responded to a discussion... and when i went back to it... i saw that the one who started it... commented to all except mine... and i asked myself why... so i decided to just comment to all responses... because if i don't... someone might get offended... thanks for the response...

Thank you for that... 80 responses is nothing compared to some who get more than 100... and that is one of my goals... to start a discussion that will garner that many responses... and i plan to comment on each and every one of them... thanks for the response...

I also try and respond to every last response I find it fun personally. I do skip some but only if I really cant figure out what it is they are trying to say to me. Or if I am gone for days and cant catch up lol.

I also have my own skipping of responses... but they are mainly because the person made a mistake of responding twice... i think that is a mylot glitch... or the response only contains three words... but other than that... i love commenting... thanks for the response...

That's a lot of writing and work and time to do just commenting on responses in your one discussion. I do not add a comment to each and every response in mine. I comment when it is needed or neccassary is all. I've had discussions with way too many responses to reply to each and everyone. Good job and have fun. HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well, you are one popular mylotter... and i know that you have a lot of discussion that get a lot of responses... so commenting on each will be quite taxing... it is not actually an obligation to do that... it is a matter of choice in our part... thanks for the response...

i have not done that. i just comment on responses that i think i have to answer. i have a vague view of what discussions and responses are right now. is it really rewarding? i mean, do you earn a lot by commenting on responses? does the number of words matter when responding and commenting? I hope you and other mylotters can enlighten me on this.

I usually comment to everyone. They took the time to read and write their opinion. I just want them to know that I have read it and appreciated the comment.

Commenting is the best way to show our appreciation... since they won't ever know if we rated them +... although i always do that to all those who respond to my discussion even if some are quite rude... thanks for the response...

Holy moly!!! EIGHTY???? I'm lucky if I get FOUR!!! LOL Congratulations!! Seriously - you hit upon a topic that attracted a lot of attention!! I try to respond to all of them, myself, but it may be brief and it may not be immediate, depending on how overwhelmed I feel. But, I do respond. That way they at least know I read their response.

I like your attitude! I would never dream of ignoring the responses that myLot members were kind enough to give my discussions. I appreciate each and every one of them, even those with whom I might not agree. For one thing, I never start a discussion just to be starting one--it will always be something that I am interested in knowing what people will say. Otherwise, it wouldn't be a discussion. It would be like a blog post, not social networking. Capiche?

Do you have a blog?... i would surely like to visit it... and give my own view on what you wrote... i too would only start a discussion on topics that interest me... but i do start some which i know are quite too simple so as to get a lot of responses... most serious discussions only get around 10 responses... but i treasure each and every one of them... thanks for the response...

Hello aseretdd, That is one of the reasons why I always look forward for your discussion. I love reading your comment and it is very fast especially whenever I respond while you are online I prefer to respond first and whenever I have time to comment, I will check my own discussions and at the same time choose the BR too. I wish to thank you again as you always help me by responding to my discussion when nobody cares sometimes. I do appreciate that and if you don't hear from me, leaving a comment for your response, just bear this in mind - I do appreciate each and single response that I received and as you know I am struggling to do my best. Just be patient, sooner or later I will definitely leave a comment though it might take me a year to do so
