i think alot of people need to find out what's important in life & what's not. all these people talking about lattes, stores closing & making it inconvenient for them need to get a life. paying your bills & providing for your families & keeping your head above water seems more important to me than what kind of latte you drink. what do y'all think. i think some of there shallow people need to wake up & smell the roses.

well I think what you say is important of course but life is not all about drudgery and if lattes brighten up someones day, then go for it. I think we have far too little things that make us happy anymore.

i think happiness is a state of mind & it's up to us to think positive. everybody has hard times but sitting around feeling soory for yourself "ain't" gonna" get it. what i was referring to was what trival things people worry about such as a latte, keeping up w/the jones/ as we say here, etc.

Hi, everyone has important things in their lives, now I'm watching a news about the " children not getting breakfast because of aid cuts in African", in a few days , even rice, they won't get anything to eat, how unortunate the children are! So for them , the most thing is to solve the food problem, but not to smell the roses.

children are the most important thing in the world to me. smell the roses is just a saying i use about shallow people worrying about trivial things that don't amount to a hill of beans.

I will have to agree with that. My husband and I work seven days per week to help pay the bills and provide for the family. the economy gets worse every day. We have to do what we can now to make sure we will be able to make it in the future. We are trying to get ready for my husband to retire in about 10 more years, so there is no time to waste. The high gas prices and the cost of everything else is rising so we have to focus on our family and finances first and foremost and putting a meal on the table daily also.

Hi antiquelady, how are you? I agree with you in this point. If you have money to spend in all the thinks you want and pay the bills and providing for your family it is all OK. But if you need keeping your head above water I think that is a wrong thing spend money with superfluous things only for show yourself for others and leave your family in need and delay the bills. The best things in life that really make us happy you don't need to buy because it's for free, like love, peace, the beauty around us. You only need to look at with open mind and open heart to see all the wonderful things you are losing when you are at shopping without looking around. cheers

I think this is a very broad discussion. Theres are a lot of things that are important in life. Though I think everytihng in life is important. Everything plays a role or provide contribution to the totality of one's life.

I guess most of the time, people don't really talk about things which are most important to them. They tend talk about trivial things maybe because they want diversion from the cruel world. Have a nice day!
