I love listening to music and I listen to music in bed before I doze off but I always ensure that the stereo is off before I sleep, otherwise I cannot have a restful sleep and wake up with heavy eyes in morning. Some people prefer to have their stereo from night 'til dawn and they sleep like babies throughout. Which one are you??

No I don't like it on at all. When I sleep I want it very quiet. Which is sometimes a problem in my house. A lot of times I can hear my mothers and my sisters televisions on at night but I just deal with it. I am getting better about going to sleep with it on. I used to not be able to sleep with any noise at all. I never have my television or stereo on when I am going to bed. I also don't like any light at all. I don't even use a night light.

Thanks for your comment, you are just like me, I can't sleep with noise and any noise disturbs my sleep quite easy!

Keeping my radio on at night would just keep me awake. I am the type of person would would just obsessively listen to my radio. I would be so intent on listenting to it that it would make things take longer for me to fall asleep. What I do like to use sometimes is a white noise machine. I live in an urban area and it can get a bit loud at night. Using a white noise machine does a great job of blocking all the car sounds out.

I, too, listens to music before I go to sleep. It's actually not the music that puts me to sleep -- directly, it's the my thoughts and music does help me clear my head of whatever thoughts I have. So normally, I can't turn it off before I sleep.

I always listen to music before I sleep, and in fact, it's something I do nearly everyday to help me to sleep! I'm the second type of person you mentioned in your post, because when I listen to music in bed, I'll listen it from the moment before I doze off to the moment I awake. I don't feel groggy or sleepy when I awake with the music still playing; I just find music really relaxing and soothing to my mind. The only down-side to this habit is that it's costing me lots of electricity!

Sometimes I'll fall asleep with my CD player on, but I don't do that very often anymore.

I am the type where the radio must be on because while i was pregnant, that was the only thing that would calm my son down before bed was to play music. speciffically Rascal Flatts. So every since then, the radio must be on while i sleep.

Back when I was ten I used to. I didn't have a television in my room until I was twelve years old. And I don't know how I got through my nights with a TV in my room. Weird. So anyway, I don't listen to music when I'm trying to get to sleep anymore. I used the light from my TV to push me into dreamland.

I used to like doing that years ago but not anymore. My husband sometimes plays his walkman (with headphones on) for a little bit before going to sleep.

Hi! Yes, I do, but as soon I notice I'm falling to sleep, I turn off the music! I don't like to sleep with music until the time to wake up!
