I'm Tired of Religion!

Don't get me wrong, I am all for believing in something. But if there were no religions then I wouldn't have to lose my friends and family members in wars. A lot people have to die for religions to exist. I just think that exceptance is needed and if people can't except others and their beliefs then religion shouldn't exist. I don't have a set religion I was raised to go to church and pray. Then I grew up and saw the destruction and pain that it caused. This isn't "God's" doing or who ever you think is watching over you. This is the human race. We caused it, and no one can save us unless religions pull their heads out of the sand. Everyone preaches exceptance but no one practices it. I don't believe that someone is coming to save anyone. I don't believe that this is because of a higher power. I don't believe that we need religion. I don't believe that we need a "God." And further more, I don't believe we need war. I am not a hippy, I know war is sometimes needed. I know we need to fight to servive. And I know that this world is screwed. Sorry for telling it like it is but I will not apoligize for my opinion or for the facts.

War wouldn't end if religion was gone, and certainly religion has brought good to people as well as the bad.

War isn't just about religion! It's about power, land, money, etc, etc. Religious wars are just the perversion of religious ideals for those reasons.

Think about it, take away all the religions... People would no longer have a reason to hate others. Yes some are racist but their are less racists in the world then religious followers.

And yet if you believe in God, Jesus, and the bible your church is no different. Besides, I don't believe in any of that. There is no religion that would change my mind.

I can see from your post that you are a man badly hurt by life or better say by circumstances. Circumstances (like war) turned opposite to you. But this does not mean simply to deny the existance of something like god which exists every where. I have also gone thru worst times of my life and I feel most of us. Yes, I also stopped believing that almighty. But slowly, slowly I realized that its easy to say that "we are all human race......", but when I ask you, who created humans, the definate answer would be GOD (some super natural power). Ask a few questions from yourself like why created universe?, where is the end of universe?, who created this empty space? and lot more such questions, you yourself will get the answer. Its not like that he will come and help you out in every thing. Yes he will do come when he realize the right time to come.

who created humans? ans - genetic variations in apes... :P why created universe? universe developed.. it wasn't created... where is the end of universe? there is no end to space... but the universe has to die... wikipedia it!! who created this empty space? ans - when 2 objects move apart space is created... on earth it gets filled by air.. while in the universe it becomes vaccum!! and lot more questions all have scientific reasons... some yet to be discovered!! and considering the religious problems... well i'd say its not all coz of religion... but yeah 75% it is... rest is for power basis!!

Let's get one thing straight, I am very much female. Women do have opinions and this woman likes to share her's. I can deny what ever I want. Freedom of religion, freedom of speech. However, I don't think that we need to kill people because of religion and God. I don't believe that people need to suffer in the name of someone that is invisible. No one will come to save anyone. This is our hell, we made it, now we must live in it.

Hi kassdaw, While religion is not the cause of all wars, it is often used by governments to get what they want. There is nothing that stirs up emotions like religion. The idea that one is right and all others wrong is the culprit here. It is good to state your views and you need never apologize for your opinion. Religion needs a major overhaul, but it will be difficult to achieve because the leaders in all factions don't want to give up their power. They have that power because their adherents are certain that they alone are right. What we need is a new spirituality that teaches the best in all religions, and shows the truth that we are all one, all brothers and sisters, regardless of race, creed or colour. Blessings.

Thank you for responding and keeping your cool when reading what I wrote. I know I am alittle absessed with the subject, only because I have friends and family members fighting in the war to keep our freedom so we have the right to choose things.

hi kassdaw, I feel that not only are people dying for religion but fighting each other because of the non-acceptance of it as well. My mom is Anglican and her mother in-law, my baba was Roman Catholic. My baba couldn't stand my mom because of her different religion. My baba was very set in her ways for this and it really made it difficult to be with both of them during holiday dinners and occasions. My question is this... if religion is suppose to be so good, then why does it cause anger and hatred towards others?

That is basically that same question that I want an answer to. If someone can answer that with a good response I will drop my whole arguement.

I totally know how you feel as I have the same feelings right now and I know that I have every reason to. I used to be so active with religious activities before. I have spent so much time and effort and even financial contributions to these organizations yet I feel it's all a scam. The first and the biggest organization had forced me to giving a huge amount of money. I converted to another one. This time, a pastor sexually harassed me. Details of which are too sensitive to be discussed here. All the while that I've been trying to be a good follower, my life is slowly going down. Now, I have reached rock bottom. Reminds me of Job (in the bible). I'm really frustrated now. I don't practice any religion at all right now. I'm trying to be good though, towards other people. Still, even those whom I love and trust have in one way or another did me wrong or have cheated on me. All the more I believe that there's no mercy...no kindness...how can there be a God for me? If he's really out there, then why has he totally forsaken me even if I have tried so much to be good? These questions i fear might never be answered in time.
