If you're gonna get really technical, there are only 7 letters in "the alphabet": t, h, e, a, l, p, and b... There are 11 CHARACTERS though :P

It dependson which country's alphabet you ask. I know that most countries have 26 letters but on the greek are 24 and the japanese or the chinese don't even mention it.
