Durian is a special fruit that only available in South East Asia, especially Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore. The outside of the durian is full of thorn. Breaking up the hard skin, there are some big thing inside with yellow and white colored. Most person don't eat durian because of it special smell. It's have special gas inside it, which it's smelly when you try to eat it. But, if you have a try on it, especially the yellow-colored, you will know that durian is actually a delicious fruit. Yellow-colored durian mostly are sweet, and white-colored durian is bitter(still many people like the white-colored). Anyone here try this fruit before? Do you like it?

Hie Padma & Ycp, jack fruit is delicious and lovely too but certainly not durians. who has spiky thorns. I like it too but I definitely love it in desserts - ice cream, cakes, pudings, candy and in dishes with 'tempoyak'( it's fermented durian use an ingredient or dipping sauce ) And the rare ones come in red, orange and purple colors!!!. Yes, I can't imagine them either - Red durians. I haven't tasted or come across it yet but it does exist in Malaysia :) I did some research and I found this: Here's the link http://testar.com.my/news/story.asp?file=/2005/5/18/nation/10980825&sec=nation And there's another blog I came across about Red durians, the link is on my web page at Mylot. Cheers and hope you will get to enjoy it :)

I am from the Philippines, also a part of South East Asia. There's a place here that grows Durian as well, I have tasted it and even those that they turned into candies. It's the king of fruits, as some might call it. I always say this whenever I get to taste one, "it's a fruit that smells like hell but tastes like heaven."

I'm proud to say that I am from the Davao. The city of Durian... :D It's raining Durian here specially in the month of August. I would never tire eating Durian... it's also intoxicating as if you get drunk but in a subtle and nice way. Try eating Durian...

I have been to Davao a lot of times. I tasted durian there and I loved it. So when I came back home in Cebu, I brought some of it. But some people really don't like its bad smell. Then when I came back to Davao, so as to let some people taste it, I didn't brought the fruit again. I brought them Durian candies. They tried the candies, but no fruit that smells bad...
