Wife earning more than the Husband

I know a couple who are in this situation, it seems to work out ok for them. I think sometimes the male part of the couple gets a bit annoyed but otherwise they're pretty ok! Put it this way, the female part of the couple has allocated herself $4200 a month to spend as she pleases - just play money, i'm not sure how the male part feels about this but all i know is that he doesn't even make that amount in a month so for him it probably seems a little unfair. I believe she earn at least 3 times the amount so she has a little more sway when it comes to buying things & what they buy but otherwise, things are pretty good for them as far as i can tell. The downside i can see though is that since they're expecting a baby, she'll be going back to work after her maternity leave & he'll be the stay at home Dad which i think he'll be perfect for! I guess everything works out in the end after all - as long as people can get over the little differences & focus on the big things & not the little ones!

Maybe in the olden, black & white days, but nowadays women are in power and we should be paid as such. If men still have issues with that, it's their own insecurity. Who cares who earns more?? As long as the kids are fed and the house is warm, why does it matter? Money is earned because we need to survive, so if the wife makes more than the husband, she should take him out to dinner more often! Just kidding. Seriously, it's jealousy, insecurity, and men's need to be the provider that cause the problems. You generally don't hear women complaining that they don't earn as much. As long as we have $$$ for shopping or lunch with the girls, we don't care who makes what!!(just kidding again!)

Well, I'm a girlfriend not a wife, but I'm the major wage earner in the relationship and no problems so far. I perfer it that way, although I'm sure that my boyfriend does not.
