I started a discussion a few days ago basically telling how I had trouble with a home appliance and I asked anyone if they had any advice for me.I have got quit a few replies to with people being kind enough to give me their good advice about the problem.However I got a reply them saying how my discussion was stupid.Therefore if people think my discussion's are not worth reading then I don't want to post them and bother my friends and other members with my nonsense.I will just continue to reply to those who has answered my previous discussion's as well as this one and reply to other discussion's.Has anyone else had this problem? And if so,how did you deal with it?

I have not actually had that experience as of yet, but my ranking did drop after stating my true opinion in several political discussions a while back. I try not to let it bother me. There are always at least a few people who will do things like that. Don't let it bother you, and keep on posting. MyLot is supposed to be a place where we are all allowed to discuss things that are important and matter to us, and to exchange information - don't let a few bad apples spoil it for you!

hi Dfollin we all get that from time to time and the only way to deal with it is to ignore it.. Post what you want to post and forget about what others say.. You are going to find rude people here.. I know this cause I've seen them.. Don't let people get to you mainly the ones that are that way.. I hope you know what I mean, Keep posting and ignore the rudeness...

Well last week. When I had started the topic of being a female and not a male. I had one person the replied and posted so you are a felale and your point. That really upset me. I asked did you read this it plainly says that people in here in mylot thought I was a male. After that I found the same person on my friends list and got rid of them. I am to old to play child games like this.

I would say, simply ignor it. There are so many people here that want to read it. You can let them know that they don't have to respond to every discussion. I like to start debates and respond to debates so there are two sides to every discussion. But if you are just asking for advise then there is no reason for someone to respond like that. I am truely sorry that this has happened but don't let one person keep you from starting new discussions. Good luck and I hope you keep writing with us.

Thanks.I could figure out why they responded.I have come across discussion's that was not my cup of tea,so to speak and I just went on to something else.The word that person used was bizzare,not stupid.It was still a put down.

I went and looked at the response they left and it still wasn't right. If they just want to put you down for even starting a discussion they shouldn't have said anything at all. But I know some people just respond with something mean or silly just for them the get enough for a payout. And that is not far for anyone.

Those kind of people should be kicked off myLot.When,I read that it hurt my feelings.I have had a bad day anyway and was coming in here to unwind and saw that.But,you guys are making me feel better.

I don't think there is any need for people to make remarks like that, I say don't take any notice of them, sad part is they got a point for saying it, you stick with us and make discussions, no one is saying they have to post in any discussion, there always have to be a few people like that in all forums...

Okay, how stupid is the person who took the time to respond to a discussion they didn't care for? It would be foolish to quit posting quality discussions, they are precious few on here as it is, on the basis of an offhand remark from someone you don't even know. Keep on posting and ignore the meanies.

Sounds like you get more appropriate responses than complaints. That should tell you something!
Some folks just take life too seriously. Maybe you posted in an interest that they believe is just for "serious" issues. That's them.
Let it go. Life is too good to let someone spoil any of your time in it.

In the past I have had problem with people at mylot but not lately. If people think a discussion is stupid, they should just not respond to it. Why respond to it just to hurt someone's feelings? That is so mean. I think it was a good discussion. Everyone needs advice sometime. It is great when you can get all these different opinions on how to solve the problem. I would not allow a few rude people to keep you from starting new discussions. What you have to say and ask is worthy.

I have seen some dumb questions on here before. Some of them really dumb. I am not sure what discussion you are talking about. I will go look after I am done responding. Anyway, I have seen some dumb discussions on here before and if I think that they are really dumb then I will just skip over them. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions on here, but if it was so dumb then why did they take the time to respond at all? I say ignore them. You have a legitimate question about something. Do not let other people being rude keep you from posting new discussions on here. Just my 2 cents.

The discussion was my Microwave Popcorn one,first the person said she was sorry to say but this is the most bizzare discussion she has seen.Then she said that she was not trying to cut me down.What is so bizzare about a microwave popcorn discussion?

I'm sorry to hear that. It's amazing how some people can afford to be rude. Besides, if I were to nitpick, I'd say that more than half of these discussions on here are somewhat mundane. Yet, I answer them anyway. People like to toss crap around as if it's their lively hood. I don't think you should stop posting discussions just to prove them wrong. Don't allow the other person to make you feel defeated.

i would ignore them and if they think the discussion is "stupid" then why did they respond to it in the first place. i would not allow others opinions to keep me from posting.

I think that the person that posted that comment was not trying to be mean and when you really read it, it says that the person was not from the US. It could've even been an older person or someone that may not use a microwave. Besides you can't let people get to you like that or you won't do anything, I've had worse said to my face. Anyways I agree with the other person go to the movies it's the best, I have gone to the movie theater in the mall just to get the popcorn and continued shopping.

Don't let one bad apple spoil the bunch. Was this person one of your friends, or was this person a stranger. You know in life you are always going to run into people like that. I would just ignore that person and go about your business. I like you and so far you haven't wrote anything stupid.

Ignore those stupid idiots, and just keep right on posting!!! I don't think you should let them stop you from doing what works for you. Just give them a negative raiting for calling you stupid, and ignore them. Don't let them win.

Don't quit starting discussions just because of one person. I was quit starting discussions with links to my mvids and vid clips because of one person, but after lots of encouragement have decided that I will post more of them.

Hi friend, based on my observation, almost all the discussions here are sensible, it depends on how the people will appreciate it, that is why there is a category here called "discussions from my interest" for us to avoid one that we are not interested to. I think you need to identify the things that does work and doesn't work, negative responses definitely will not work for all of us, just ignore it and focus on the positive comments. WEll I dont mean to be rude to no one by any means but hun why would you even let that get to you I am sure if your friends Thought that your post was what so ever nonsense they would not be your friend You know thats when ppl should Not say nothing if they have nothing nice to say really This has never happend to me and It wouldnt really bother me But I must say I am a lil of a smart butt and I would have to send them a smile and a thank you! You know that just what I would do I mean really they have no major affect on your life come them post a coming !
