In Canada, I believe that there are places still that they can leave their doors and windows unlocked and nothing is lost. Low crime rate or nothing at all. While here in my country, you barely just got out of your own neighborhood and someone is trailing you, eventually rob you when you turn in a dimly lit street. Or if they see that your gate is left open or doesnt have a padlock, they can easily enter your house unknowingly and before you know it, your bike is gone. Sometimes, even in broad daylight, they will enter the house. They usually spy on the street and see which houses are easy targets..Nowadays, can you still consider your neighborhood safe for your kids?

No place is 100% secure for kids, not even in your own house. Parents should keep watch of their kids mostly those under the age of 10 years. Even househelps nowadays are a danger to kids. I have a story of another housegirl who stuck a baby into a fridge and escaped with all household goods. So, don't trust anybody with your kids.

If i'm honest i've found myself wondering if having kids is such a good idea. I look both at the neighbourhood, country and world in a broad sense and think ... do i really want to give a child this? As someone who has finally settled with my partner and had been longing to be a father, thats a little sad.

There are other plenty of good reasons that you can think by having kids. There's still hope in this trying and dangerous times. Let's just be cautious. You would really love it once you have seen your babies eyes staring at you with a smile on his/ her face..Don't lose hope..

Hi, I think that it is not safe to let kids playing in the neighborhood, it is not safe. A lot of kids are captured and being sold to other country. If I have kids, I will not let them play in the neighborhood. I will only let them play in the garden of the house.

I am sorry to hear that, eihdra. Our place is almost the same like your place. We even have a neighbor that is known to be a robber, gets something in you place that he knows have some value. I wish to move to some more secure place someday. I just have to earn more from my job so I can start house hunting...

Sadly I think this is happening to my neighborhood which used to be a safe place, although the burglar alarm seems to keep people out

Since this is happening in your neighborhood nowadays, I guess your alarm is always alarming?
