What makes you choose a book or magizine to read? Is it the cover art, the author, or the subject matter. I will read almost anything except sci.fiction and horror. and have bought books simply because i liked the cover art, and have NOT bought a book that sounded like it would be good because i didn't like the cover art.

I don't read magazines. With a book it's usually the title that draws me first, than the author. The picture on the book never draws me anymore. As a matter of fact, I will pick up a love story quicker if it doesn't have a man and woman wrapped up together on the cover. Years ago that is the first thing that drew me. My taste in reading material has definitely changed over the last 20 years.

Well i can't say a man and women crawling all over each other really draws me (although i do like romance). Blood splattered all over doesn't do it either and the man and women will definitely get bought first.

Most of the books that I read are chosen by publisher alone. That is the first thing that I look for as I have many books from Tor Fantasy, and I haven't a single one I don't like.

The pictures alone are enough to put me off!

When choosing a book it has to be one that is of interest to me to read. A magazine is different since there are so many things in them that are different and those types the pictures get my attention and then I see what the main articles are and I might buy it.

I would usually ask a good friend if that book is worth reading. Like you, I also stay away from science and horror books. What I read are the motivational ones, love stories, and feel good books. I also pick up those who have good reviews. It has to be really worth reading for me, because when I am really hooked, I could stay up all night reading! Good luck.

I judge a book by its content. I like science fiction and detective books. These kinds of books make me exciting.

If the cover puts me off i will never find out what the contents are like. I probably miss out on some good books like that.

I travel alot usually fly. I don't get magizines, they usually have two on the plane which are interesting! I read alot and buy at the airports mostly. I usually scan the selection for an author I've read and liked. The airports has several bookstores normally and if I have time I'l try another if I can't find any at the first one, I normally find one by a popular author that I know! tdemex
