Do you cover your windows at night, or you don’t care if others can see you?

When walking my dogs I noticed many houses without window treatments. I wouldn’t feel private at home without windows treatments. Would you? What kind of window treatment do you like?

Not that anybody would take the time to look at me in a brightly lit bedroom in a stat of undress, my blinds are always drawn.

We have blinds in all our windows. I also can't live without it, I don't like people outside will see us and what we are doing. During night time, we use to open our window and keep the blinds but only like 4 inches so that we can have some fresh air!

The place i live is very very hot, and during night a gentle breeze blows so I usually leave the windows open ,Unless in case of rain. i don't care much of privacy if someone is peeping into my room and sees something obscure then it's his fault not mine, he should never be peeping into someone else's territory in the first place.

Windows treatment is about blinds, drapes....not open or closed windows. Sorry if I wasn't clear about it.... I like to open my windows, but I always have my blinds down.

We live out in a rural area where it would not concern me as much, but yes I do cover up at night, especially in Winter time as it seems to keep the house warmer. We have a combination of blinds and curtains on different windows but the curtains serve better purpose for keeping out the heat and also keeping in the warmth in different seasons.

I would prefer to close my windows. I prefer my privacy, instead of some peeping tom sneaking in. I feel it is always safe to cover or close the windows to avoid unnecessary attention of a passerby or a neighbor. If the windows are open, even those who are going/passing by unmindful, will feel tempted to have a look to enjoy what is going on in a room......LOL!Once one of my colleagues told me that they changed their ground floor flat to the first floor, because they were very disturbed to note that people passing by their house, would invaraibly look at their room and it was their bedroom which was most vulnerable. They infact caught a boy more than once, peeping in, but the things did not improve, so they finally shifted their flat to first floor.

I have blinds and cutrains on all my windows. Except the front room, it only has curtains. During the day I open the blinds and the curtains but when it starts getting dark, I close them both. I don't like the idea of someone looking in.

hello dear c",) It's always a must for us to close windows and doors during the night because it's safer and as for me i can't sleep thinking someone bad might happen or intruders might come... Just to be safe, we must secure the locks. God bless you my friend c",)

I also feel safe with windows covered. I have to admit that many times I was sleeping with doors not locked at night.

As soon as the sun goes down, the blinds get closed! I dont like that feeling that just any random person could be watching us from outside. Thats a creepy feeling. I like my privacy and wouldnt want people knowing what we do inside our home. Now our neighbor, thats a different story. She is in her mid to late 70's and her windows never have curtains closed or blinds shut.

I def. cover my windows with my curtains at night. It creeps me out to leave it open like that and think that anyone can just come up and watch me while I'm sleeping. Also, you're right, it doesnt feel private with your blinds/curtains all open like that because like I said, anyone can just go up and look into your window while sleeping.. or doing anything for that matter.

I always close my curtains at night, I don't really enjoy the idea of someone looking at me... I guess if my home was quite high I may leave the curtains open for an upstairs bedroom, but it's not, and so I don't.

We have curtains and drapes covering our windows. I'm the only one who likes plenty of light streaming in (well, maybe Goldi, or cockatiel likes the light), but everybody else would be happy if we lived in a cave. The cats get up in the window sills anyway, regardless of what's covering them. They like to watch the birds outside (during the day), and try to catch the bugs that land on the outside of the window panes (at night). It's like interactive TV to them.

Hi polachicago! All the windows facing the street have curtains and the windows at the side of our house is widely open so the fresh cool air will ventilate our home. However, the window at the side of our house has a bamboo curtain which we put down before we sleep and we still feel the privacy since there are a lot of tall plants and we have a high concrete fence around the house. Take Care and God Bless! Celebrate Life!

I always cover my windows, and close the blinds once it starts to get dark. Maybe I've watched too many scary movies but having the windows open at night makes me feel very uncomfortable. Not having something there to cover the window, day or night, would drive me nuts. I'd hate for people to be able to see in my house ALL THE TIME... Privacy is nice.
