Don't i deserve to get paid on time? What would you do if your employer said"Sorry forgot my checkbook (again!)I'll pay you monday" Don't I take good care of your child every week? I feel your taking advantage of my good nature! Uggg!! feels good to vent-obviously, I'm a daycare provider. Not only do the kids get picked up late most Friday nights (I guess the parents have to cash THEIR checks!) but 4 out of the five parents didn't pay me! Saturday is the only day I can get to the bank, so if they don't pay me Friday, I can't get the Money in till the following week! I swear next week (after I finally get all the checks) I'm gonna tell them not to bring their kids till 10:00 cause I have to deposit my checks! Think they'll get the hint? I'm also going to implement a late fee. No more Ms nice guy! Do those of you who bring your children to daycare always pay on time? Cuz ya should!!

We usually always pay outr daycare on time. I can't imagine our world without their expert care. I wonder if you had them create a schedule for the next couple weeks and then have them pay in advance? We deal with a very large care center so they have certain powers (charging $5/day late fees, 'vacation days', etc). If you are just by yourself it might be a little harder. Your services will always be valuable to someone out there. Maybe the trouble is not with them not paying on time but with you allowing them to get away with it?

You're absolutely right-I do let them get away with it. I already have a new contract for new people coming in stating payment in advance. I am going to add a late fee-I've decided to make up a notice for all the parents for Monday-this is the first week that it was more than one or two who didn't pay and I just can have that. I guess their kids will be eating mac and cheese all week! lol can't afford the good stuff. :)

I hate to see someone struggling for money. I saw this program and just jumped into it and it actually works. Would you consider looking at it? It may be helpful.

lol...I do fine, when I get paid. Its just hard to juggle bills and neccessities when money doesn't come in as planned.

My kids are not in daycare right now, but when my son was in daycare before I had to pay the week before they were watched. So, when I dropped him of on Monday morning I had to have the money then or I could not leave him there. She had gotten burned too many times on people not paying and then not bringing the kids back so they did not have to pay her.

it's not fair on you, no. The parents know the costs involved and they should pay on time. There is a saying that you teach people how to treat you. Perhaps you are being too nice! At the saemt ime, the costs of childcare is ridiculous but if the parents can not afford it they should find other ways to have their child cared for such as relatives/friends.

I don't even charge the state average rate for daycare. Whats more, half the families I'm involved with receive state assistance to help with their child care costs (when I get those checks is another story!) so they only have to actually pay me a fraction out of their pocket!

I agree, you deserve to get paid on time if you worked the hours.
