Do you have unusual ways to use celery?

My husband just made spaghetti tonight. He always makes it with celery! I had never heard of that before. He explained it as "needing the 'crunch'". It got me thinking about how other's might use celery. Fess up! If I can let you know how weird my hubby is, you can tell me your story.

While at a party one time there was an unusual item on the tray of goodies....it was celery with peanut butter in the hollows! I had seen and eaten celery with pimento cheese before, but never peanut butter! I had to try it and it was actually very tasty! The hostess told me that it was one of her husband's and son's favorite snacks. She said that she often put that in her son's school lunch rather than a sandwich.

I know a few people who eat celery that way. I've eaten it, too. It's very healthy. I like it because celery has less calories than it takes to eat it. Imagine that, eating food and losing weight! Now, if it was only satisfying!

I have never heard of celery in spaghetti, it actually sounds pretty good. Did you try it, if so what did you think about it? Bascially the only thing I do with my celery is smear peanut butter on it.

My husband makes it all the time! You don't really taste the celery, it just adds "crunch" to it. That's the reasoning behind my husband putting it in the spaghetti. He likes "crunch". I guess it's a good thing, since spaghetti can be very fattening! At least with the celery in it, you're eating a little bit of healthy stuff! I've also added water chestnuts (the sliced kind in the can). That adds even more crunch, and lowers the overall calories in the spaghetti.

Most times, I use fresh and frozen veggies on my grill when I'm cooking. Sometimes I wrap two or three chicken thighs in foil and add chopped up veggies together and grill everything together. It comes out really tasty! I have used squash, onions, potatoes, carrots, brocolli but never celery! I might try that. Thanks.

Actually, I put my spaghetti in a bowl and put my salad right on top, which usually has celery in it. I use Italian dressing and I do enjoy the crunch with the spaghetti.
