That sounds like self hypnosis, which is indeed a good way to fall asleep! be careful, though! LOL. I like to read a book, or an online story, listen to soft music, drink some herbal tea, like one made to help you get to sleep faster, and do some self massage with essential oils! If it is early enough, a walk around the block is always helpful to get you to sleep on time!
