Ok, I just got this news link and had to bring it to other's attention. It seems that the Colorado Gov. has signed a bill to make public bathrooms non-gender. Meaning that it is now allright for men to use the restrooms at the same time women and girls are. I have a 12 year old Niece and I would be appalled at her being in the restroom and having any man go in there. Also if you interfer with anyone coming in the restroom you can be charged a $5000 fine and up to a year in jail. Talk about opening the door to molesting and rape, way to go Democrats. I'm not saying every man is a molester or a rapist but how handy is it that now any man in general can waltz into bathroom where women and girls of all ages are taking care of intimate business. This has got to be the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. The only advice I can give women is warn your children and accompany them into any bathroom...it won't be long till this is the norm in every state. Here's the link to read for yourself: http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=65690 **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

I have just read this story and all I can say is it is disgraceful, how can doing this be justified? I would not want to walk into a toilet and see a man in there having a wee, especially not if I had my daughter with me. I would rather wet my pants. You are right, not every one is a molester or a rapist but allowing this may allow those that are the perfect chance to live out their sick fantasies. All I can say is that I hope the UK does not follow suit and think that it is a good idea.

Does this guy have rocks in his head? What was the reason for this bill to start with? This is indeed one of the craziest things I ever heard.

This is not good. There are many young girl, teens and preteens that their parents are not going to accompany them to the bathroom! I always take my grand-daughters. They are 6,7, and 8 to the bathroom. I could not imagine that strangers, men and boys would be allowed to go into the same ones. I guess I'd just have to get the fine. No guy is going in the restroom with my grand-daughters. If they are gentlemen they won't mind and will understand. Like wise, if they have to go we will wait on them to finish.

Hubby was telling me about that last night and we were expressing our concern that this craziness might spread to other states. Now I was equally outraged when a woman in Texas was given a jail sentence some years back for using a "men's" washroom that was unoccupied when the women's one was unavailable, as that was just silly. I have myself used a men's washroom when the women's was broken, but only with my husband standing guard just outside to warn any men who might come along. None did. If the public bathroom is one room with a lodck, that is a different matter, but in a public restroom I don't even like it when mother's bring their little boys in with them. I realize there are issues, but it does make me extremely uncompfortable. I will stay out of Colorado from now on\, I think.

Certain places have family restrooms, where a family can go in together, since little ones are so often too young to go in alone! I think the law says that parents cannot allow their children to enter and use a public restroom without an adult, at least in some states!

That is just crazy! I never let my child go to the bathroom alone when he was little but if I had a little one now i dont know what I would do. Where were all the parents when this was passing I cant believe that any parent would let this pass with out an all out war. thank the Gods I dont have any more children. That is just asking for trouble and I know I was raped and molested starting at age 9. talk about a can of worms they just opened up.

As far as I could tell, this guy just made this new regulation, there was no vote, the people didn't get a chance to have a say. I tell you one thing though, if I were a parent in his state, I would have my say come election time, heck I wouldn't wait for election, I would start an impeachment committee.

That is terrible what is the govt thinking or not thinking I should say. How can they do that? I would be ranting and raving to the govt on that. Geez now it seems kids would be safer going to the br behind a bush rather then in a public bathroom, that is just disgusting really pisses me off.

That is so wrong!!! I know their reasoning but they were not thinking. Next thing we know, they will be making bathrooms for children. I don't want to go to the bathroom next to a man.

Well, this is another reason to think democrats are clinically insane. The democrats just made it a whole lot easier to invade everyone's privacy, and a whole lot easier for rapists and child molesters, and all kinds of freaky people in general to go about their nefarious deeds legally. Now that they can go into womens bathrooms unchallenged and unquestioned, women and children will not be safe anywhere in Colorado with the possible exception of a church bathroom and their own homes. The democrats keep proving how stupid they really are more and more every day. What a bunch of morons...

I wouldn't count on the church bathroom being so safe. You would be surprised how many child molesters attend church.

As I understand it a church is a public place so it would also apply to them. The only safe places will be your own home and those places that have single use bathrooms (one toilet bathrooms). Places like Walmarts with multiple stalls will be a haven for not only perverts but for the teenage boys looking to get into trouble. It used to be that if a man or teenage boy was harassing a girl she could hide out in the ladies room till they got bored and left...not no more. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~

Yikes! I just can't see that. From a privacy issue alone I don't think this is a good idea. Men and women I would hope would respect privacy but children don't know any better. I have seen situations where a venue did not have enough bathrooms (usually for women) so some women braved the stares to go to men's rooms. But these were like a concerts or sold out basketball games etc. I have also seen "Family" bathrooms which I guess are helpful for taking care of babies. But for the most part I would not be in favor of unisex bathrooms in public places.

Umm no thank you. I don't want to go to a bathroom at the same time a man is in there - that is just stupid. Just as well I use the family restrooms most of the time when I have my son with me as I don't like him to go into public toilets by himself (he's only 5).

Ok, that is just dumb. Not even taking children into consideration, I would not want to be in a public bathroom with a male.

I think it will be ok IF there is a parent that goes with each child. Not necessarily in the same stall but to wait outside and make sure nobody enters. I wonder if this has anything to do with the fact that women move slower thus have longer lines. Maybe a female complained! I never did let our kids use a public bathroom alone when they were younger. I made sure to always go with them. I also think if there is a pervert/molester lurching in the background they will find a way to get at the kids no matter what laws are in effect. I can certainly see your concern and think it could add to strangers following kids into public bathrooms if there is nobody to protect them. In the longrun, I am not disagreeing with you but parents need to be alert and stay on top of things.

Oh wow is that the most insane thing I've heard all week! But, things like this will continue as long as people assume that writing letters and calling/emailing their congressmen and governors will not help anything. As long as we remain apathetic, our lawmakers will continue to tromp on the constitution. What happened to our right to privacy?

Wow, I do NOT like this idea at all. I can see some ways where it would be good. I have a 2 year old little boy, and I'm sure there will come a time when he decides he's too old to use the women's restroom, whether I agree or not. I guess it would save us from some arguments if anyone could use the restroom he was in, instead of just women, but I still don't think I would like the idea of everyone sharing a restroom.

That sucks. The bathroom isn't that safe anyway. Are they making it that way in restaurants and all public places. I already thought it was bad enough for little boys. I guess we have to accompany them till they're 18 now.
