the highest priest ranking in the catholic church. the man has the power to change the world...!! but the question should he actually have that power!! According to the Church, the Pope speaks to god! lols :P well human choose him... how can humans tell who can speak to god or not.... or if it is that a person when becomes a pope he can talk to god... then there must be a way normal humans can ?? :-? comming to the point.... well recently pope was the one making some lame comments..... starting of with galileo!! he commented that it was right of pope at galileos time to imprison him!! he said that earth was spherical... that theory could have ruined the church doctrine...!! but the point is what is the point in commenting on that issue.... does he want to tell the world that the earth isn't spherical and its a illusion :P next he introduced some new sins.... how the fcuk he knows that what can lead you to heaven/hell whatever.... i mean from where he concluded about that part!! and the best part about him is.... that after making these statements he wents under ground... he refused to talk on the galileo's matter after that statement... he cancelled all his trips.... :P

A pope has already changed times when they changed the worship of God from Saturday to Sunday. No where in the bible does it say that God wants us to worship him or keep Sunday and not the seventh day which is Saturday. So i guess he can try to change history too if he wants to. It's up to us whether we follow or believe him or not.

A pope does not have the power to change the world. What ever power you think he has each and every country leaders also has it too. The pope is a man as every other man. He just has some responsibilities that was given to him to over see the catholic churches. Jesus Christ has already shed his blood that through him man can becomes save. Everyone speaks to God in his/her own ways. Jesus Christ is the mediator between man and God. The pope is just another human being. Everyone is a sinner. This because the blood of Jesus Christ is there for us. We don't need the pope. What we need is to go back to Christ confess our sins and live according to the words of God.

thanx for the response.... but i'd like to say that.... yes you are right... according to bible also... the need of pope is not defined!! but you cannot deny that he is the catholic leader of the religion!! and his statements can move the people... people can't negate his statements... if he would have ordered U.S.A. to stop the legacy in iraq or afganistan... im sure he wouldn't have been able to do it!! well you see he has more power than the most powerful country!!

Which country is the most powerful. No country is more powerful than the other in the eyes of God. It is us the people on earth who makes America thinks it is the most powerful. Well did you read the stories about the rich man and the poor man. It is these powerful countries that has abuse their power that makes what is happening today is a disaster.

First, not to worry. The pope only has power in Christianity? But there are MANY other religions and he does not have power over them. And many of those have a much larger population of people/followers. But this pope is not as loved or respectd as the last and I feel he doesn't have as much power, contrary to his own belief? Frankly, his own church ignores him more than not. He COULD do good things around the world, but is too judgemental and cannot follow his own 10 Commandmaents NOT to judge, so..not a great leader. He is antiquated and cannot seem to understand that priests are not likely to join in larger numbers if, say, they have to celibate for life, which isn't possible? (There WAS a time priests were allowed famies even, so I don't know what the problem is.) Not to mention that he has just come down with a statement that if anyone ordains a female as a priest, they will be instantly ex-comuncated from the church. Many women find this offensive and will most likely leave the church over that soon. Preists and spiritual leaders shouldn't be chosen on gender..they should be chosen o their soul contents, dedication ot the church and minds/ability to lead! This guy doesn't "get it." The church has become too patriarchial for women to take seriously. Let men have their OWn church. They don't seem to respect females. But even with that, Christians only make a small population on this Earth.-Not sure, but are there not more Hinduists? There's alot of mis-truths in the Catholic church, sadly. Thye seem ot make things up as they go along. Time for a new way or the highway for them!
