I was very fortunate--I never got caught driving without a license (once without insurance, but it expired without my knowledge). Did you get a ticket? How big were the fines?

I have never driven with out a license, insurance or tax. I would not take the chance of losing my license for a year or two. If I lost my license for any amount of time, I would not be able to get around. My car was in the garage for 2weeks and I had to bus it everywhere with my 2yr old son. It was a major headache. I wouldnt take the risk.

Wow...and you have to lug a LOT of stuff with a two-year-old! When I did drive without a license, it was only because I was underage...and I was learning to drive, since my mom didn't want me to learn until I was 21 (legal age here is 17). The insurance thing was unintentional--I've always been preety good about making sure all my documents were in order.

Nope, not me. I've never driven in my life. I am legally blind, so it would be extremely dangerous for me to attempt to drive.

No, I guess if you're legally blind, you wouldn't want to attempt that! (though in Florida in 1990, you could have!) Thanks for responding though, and have a nice day!

You deserved it--answering to a discussion about driving when you're legally blind? That takes balls!
