I made strawberry pancakes and scrambled eggs for breakfast this morning. The kids went crazy eating them up. I cheated and started the pancakes with a muffin mix and added some barley baby cereal to them. I think they taste better with the barley in them. So, what did you have for breakfast this morning?

My wife would love that breakfast. We bought some strawberries that were freshly picked a couple of weeks ago and had them over ice cream, waffles and just by them selves. I flat of strawberries only cost us $12 directly from the field where they were grown. They were so much better then store bought strawberries.

The store bought ones are not worth spending your money on. I used to work in Agriculture and many friends grew strawberries. Drisco is the most flavorless brand but the most common in the stores. The big producers bread strawberries that would hold up to shipping and last on the shelves. And they forgot about flavor. A local grower is the best place to buy them. They are varieties that are flavorful because shipping is not an issue.

That is a great tip, as most baby food has high levels of vitamins in it. Great tip and I decided to rate you a plus for sharing that. Breakfast for me is usually eggs and bacon, or beans on toast depending on the mood. If I am in a hurry its granola bars.

I keep a few boxes of granola bars in the house for a quick breakfast sometimes. What kind of beans do you eat on toast? I have never had beans for breakfast before.

Oooh, I love pancakes...I just made them yesterday but it had been a long time before that...I never really think about making them for some reason but I even like to have them for dinner sometimes. This morning I just made oatmeal with raisins.

Baby cereal? This sounds very intriguing. Who knew you could do other things with baby cereal besides feed it to babies? Have you any other recipes you improve with using baby food?

Yup, baby cereal. My daughter is 16 months old and won't touch the stuff. I have about 6 boxes of it left in the pantry. I add it to pancakes, waffles, meat loaf, anything that I can get away with adding something that is a fine ground oatmeal type consistency. Oh, and the cat loves it made with powdered milk.
