Do you like to camp fancy or rough it?

I am a middle ground kind of person. Although there is nothing that would make me feel as great as camping out in total no where, the closest I get is a tent and comfort stations. I believe in showers and flushing toilets. I am not a fan of RVing because to me that is not camping. It is something different. What is your take on this?

My idea of camping is a hotel without room service...lol. Just kidding. When I was younger I enjoyed camping a lot. Now that I am older I prefer the RV or a cabin. As for "real" camping, if I had to choose I would take the fancy camping. I like having showers. I tend to feel nasty if I don't have one regularly. Then again you get all the people that come with it compared to going somewhere desolate. So it's six of one, half dozen of the other for me.

I understand that completely! I am mostly lip service. Snakes and wild animals such as bear and coyotes freak me out.

I'm not afraid of animals. I just like a comfortable bed...lol. I don't like waking up sore, without a GOOD cup of coffee. Plus, it always seems to rain when I camp and I end up freezing.

I understand. We are creatures of comfort. It is hard to rough it as we get older.

We've never done RV's, though we have bought a solar shower and a little propane stove -- and a fold out sink thing. But I like roughing it. There's something about sleeping outside with nothing between you and nature but a blanket. I'm not a big fan of fires, but like them occasionally as part of the whole experience. It reminds me of how people used to live waaaay back before technology was a big thing.

Yes, it does. I really love the movies and books that the characters camp like that. They make it sound so appealing.

I do not like RV too.

It just takes away from the experience. I love them for long distance travel and whatnot, but to just go to the local camp ground, no.
