Do you let others affect your clothing style?

Well, I know that people have their own clothing style... In my case, I usually dress simply... As I'm afraid of what other people think of my clothes...this one is true in the Philippines because some pinoys like to talk about strangers. Like for example, when someone is wearing like a dressy outfit in a mall they would tend to talk about it..."Minding their own business" is not followed here. And these people fall under the lower middle class category... I'm in middle class so I commute everyday and I don't usually go to high-end places so I wear simple clothes for fear of being scrutinized by people... I've had this bad experience wherein my sister and I wore flare pants (when it was starting to be a fad) and platform rubber shoes. THen we were riding the escalator and a mom behind us told her child (look at them, they're just following the fad no sooner will those pants be out of style and it will stay and rot in their cabinets). Needless to say, I lost my self-confidence after that. And now, I'm trying hard to gain my self-confidence again. What I'm trying to say is that my outfit is controlled when i mingle with those kind of people-i don't get to wear what I really like to wear. (Yeah, I have low self-esteem) I dress up when I go to high-end places wherein I know people wouldn't care whatever you're wearing. I just hope that Philippines is like in America wherein you can dress whatever you want and they would not care at all. I don't know why it's like that here in the Philippines, it's so sad. I'm not saying everyone is like that here but you can't really get away..there will be people like that here.

Maybe there isnot enough to keep them occupied. People here do that also. In the big cities people are so busy going about there business they dont have time to mind other people's business. I dress the way I want to irrespect of what others may say. I cannot live my life engaged around others. You shoud do what makes you feel comfortable. Align yourself with people who are motivated and you will become motivated too.

I wear what I feel is comfortable to me and I don't mind what other people would say about it. People criticized those because they don't have the guts to wear it themselves. If you criticize those wearing mini skirts, chances are you cant wear something like that so you just content yourself in sour graping. That's how the pinoys are when it comes to fashion. Of course, people would tell who we are the way we dress, so don't reveal too much of yourself to others. Be respectful when you dress yourselves in public.

No one affects my clothing style. I am not a fashion nut. I only own a few pair of shoes and just a couple purses and they are cheapies. I am not influenced by brand names. Love to wear jeans and t shirts mostly. Most women are really into the latest fashion trends, but I am just not up with the trends and I am okay with that. And if staying up with the latest trends is your thing then that is okay too. It sounds like it is different where you live, I hope you find a way to be happy with what you wear instead of feeling like you have to wear certain things you do not want to.
