What would you do ?

Let's say you give a coin to a beggar and he tosses it away, because he thinks that is to little for him. What would you do ? I had seen this thing before in the subway and i can't imagine how the person who gave the beggar the coin must have felt - that's another reason why i don't give anything to beggars.

Just like the beggar here. They will even go to your house, knocking your door and begging. If you give them coin, they will throw it to your face and said :"I want dollar, not cent!" Some beggar will even tell you how much they want. "I want $5","I want $10","I want $14"

Yes, there are many that are quite picky - like my mom sometimes says - it's like they are running a toll for the other side...

Some beggars, do name their price... I rarely give money to beggars because I just offer a simple pray in return. However if it happens to me... I would picked up the coin. I did not ask for that coin, I worked and labored and that is how I got my money, and that is where the coin came from. So I would picked the coin and keep it... If the beggar does not need it, I do!

I like the idea, you are doing more for them then they could of asked for (or at least in my opinion) with out hurting yourself in the process. Thanks for the comment.

wow that's rather weird:P i never thought beggars could get the "diva" effect^^ it's rather sad thought that he dosen't know that every little bit counts and he threw away a good gesture, no wonder he was where he is, i'm not sure what i would have done, probably just keep walking and start some heavy thinking, or maybe start begging from him :))

I will go away and don't pick up my coin. I don't think I am wrong when I give little money to a beggar. I have not obligation to give money to a beggar and I do that just because I can help the beggar. If he don't like to receive my money, I dno't care about it.

I understand your point of view, but yet again, if you are not full of money, i think you should care about your money - because you DID work for them, didn't you ? Anyway, thanks for the comment.

Good day. If that happens to me if I can pick my coin, I would and keep it. when another beggar comes along and ask for money, I'll give it to him. For me there's no shame in giving what you can for the people who are asking from you. What's more shameful is that person didn't appreciate what you did even just a little. There's a saying Beggars can't be choosers" because if I'm in his situation I wouldn't choose but instead accept the help what ever form it comes with open heart and be grateful to that person who share what he/she can.

Well, i prefer to help a foster home or something instead of giving to beggars, so i don't technically have something against people that are in need, but i do get annoyed by the situations like the one i presented - that's why i prefer not giving to beggars. Thanks for comment !
