Nineteen Year Old Dives On Grenade

A nineteen year old in Iraq gave his life to save the lives of four of his comrads and friends. The ultimate sacrifice. This is the kind of true friend that you would want on your side in times of trouble.
The grenade was thrown into the vehicle and he dove on it. He has been honored with the highest honor given in the military. He is a true hero in my book. I pray that his family is able to find meaning in such a tragic occurance. I am still saddened by the fact that my mind continues to wonder, What are we fighting for, anyway? This story has really touched my heart. Tell me what you think.

He definitely needs to be honoured and remembered for what he did for his comrads. He is sure a HERO!

A hero and one brave dude. I do not know that at a crucial moment like that, I would have been able to make such a decision. I mean there is a lot to consider before dying than saving the lives of others. I would hope that I would have the presence of mind to do something so heroic, but I believe that I am much too selfish.

I know I couldn't do that - My husband and son would be on my mind at that point and know that I would be running for it.

I salute him. The is the bravest thing any one can do. He saved his friends whom he knew maybe just before he went to Iraq. But nevertheless, he was not deterred by anything and gave himself. May he rest in peace. A true to life hero.
