Do You Consider Mccain To Be Too Similar To Bush?

I would not consider him too similar. I think hes more positive and reasonable than Bush but I maybe wrong about that if he becomes president. Alot of people probably judge him on his support to continue the iraq war. I don't give mccain much of a chance to win because hes having problems with his own party. Not good since higher percentage of republicans vote compared to democrats.

I do find the two too similar. Neither one has taken a strong stance on illegal immigration, neither one is fiscally responsible, neither are conservative. President Bush showed promise while running, Senator McCain is doing the same. However, I could be wrong, and should McCain win and prove me wrong, I will admit it.

I think McCain is his own man and that he will approach the presidency with significantly different attitudes than President Bush has. He is right to want to continue the Iraq war until the great issues of disorder are significantly resolved over there. I believe it was a good thing for the USA to intervene over there and rid the world of the significant terrorist threat that existed in Sadaam Hussein. However, we must realize that after his deposition Iraq was left without a government. In my opinion, for the USA to pull out of Iraq prematurely would only hand the country over to the terrorist factions we have fought to dispossess, and it would mean the blood of countless US soldiers has been shed in vain, if we don't finish the job. I also think McCain has a good chance of winning the presidency because he does represent change. Maybe some of the republicans that nominated him don't want the changes he is proposing, but I think he is capable of winning them over because he has a level head.

I agree with you that we just can't suddenly pull out or walk away at the time. I feel starting the war was more based on being paranoid rather than pure facts.

I think President Bush was trying to listen to the subtle hintings of their intelligence informtion and keep from being blindsided with a terrorist attack from that madman, SadaamHussein. If that is paranoia, better that than suffer through another 9/11. I admire him for standing up to virtually the whole world and forging ahead.
