Did you received lots of sales person or telemarketing phone daily?

I got lots and lots of calls for these few weeks. And its annoying at first and become unbearable now. I don't know who gave them my phone number? I suspected they got it from my banks and my credit card company. I rarely gave my phone number to people I did not know.
Most phones were from the banks who try to loan me money or asked me to join their saving account etc etc. And credit cards companies who keep asking me to join their cards, also lots of travel agencies etc etc. Once I even got a sales call at 19:30 PM. That not right and plain insensitive.
I already asked my friends and family just to called me via cell phone or SMS me first if they wanted to called cause I just unplugged the phone now. And blocked any calls from people I do not know.
How about you? Did you received lots of call from sales person? How did you handle it?

Hi,
I too get calls, mainly asking for the loans and insurance. But its rare tht same company ppl call me twice. We do have do not call list but that is not so effective as it is in the US, we will get the calls even after registering in do not call list. If i am in a good mood and if i have time then i will pester them like any thing. I will ask all possible questions to them and they will be in the impression that i am interested in thr products. If i do not have time i will simply hang up the call.

How kind of you asking them all question patiently. I only let them talk for 10 seconds before i said i am not interesting and asked thier phone number (never write them down) and tell them I will call them ( a lie) when I need their services.

Some of these telemarketers call even when they know they are not suppose to - I am on that "Do Not Call List" but they still call, when I see a call on my caller ID that I don't know I will let my answering machine pick it up, for some reason the telemarketers do not leave messages. They are very annoying.

In the U.S. we have a governmental "do not call" list we can sign up for and if salespeople call us they get fined if we report them. And I certainly do! I rarely get sales calls since I'm on the list.
Before the list, sales calls drove me crazy! (it was a short drive!) They would call at all hours, waking up my babies and interrupting our lives. I had to answer the phone because we also used it for business. I would be very rude to them if I was having a bad day or if they woke up the boys but usually I just hung up on them.
Now I tell them I'm on the list and that I'm going to report their company so I hope they're prepared for a nice fine! That feels good to say.

hahaha! how inconvenient.. i don't get that many calls. maybe once in a quarter.. the "do not call list" in the u.s. is cool to join. i hope you can do that. :)
