But kinda not, I feel a bit sorry for the guy that got hurt. In the U.S., the man would've sued the restaurant owner for damages and won a few million dollars then went after the glass manufacturers! The Dutch seem to be very civilized about things! Dutch police say a man who pushed his exposed buttocks against a restaurant window as a joke was injured when the glass broke and lacerated his behind. Authorities say a man, 21, and two others had run down a street Sunday morning with their pants pulled down. The man pushed his behind against the window of a restaurant when it broke and cut him. The injured man was treated for his injuries at a nearby hospital. The cafe owner decided not to press charges after the men agreed to pay for the broken window.

Sounds like the sort of thing a Dutch man would do... They're just so damn EVIL!

I was surprised, because I've always heard they're so polite!

Why do you feel sorry for the bloke with the lacerated bum? He's obviously a complete pillock. Absolutely agree with you about the compensation culture though. In America i feel it's got completely out of hand and it's sad to see the trend spreading elsewhere. Glad to see common sense prevailing in this case at least.

I feel sorry for him because I imagine how painful it must be! He got consequences for his actions and that's good, but ouch! Yes, it's bad in America. We should have "loser pays" laws where the loser pays everyone's attorney's fees then people would re-think a lot of lawsuits. But then again, the juries are the weak link, we have a generation that believes they're entitled to be protected against everything, even being offended by someone's opinion. So I guess that wouldn't work!

I guess they got what they deserved. I am glad they have to pay for the window. That was really strange. You are right, they would have been rewarded for doing such a stupid act.

That is the strangest thing that i have ever heard in my life. Pulling down your pants and putting your butt on a glass and then end up getting cut by the glass. That not funny but to a degree it's really funny. I know that this had to be in another country. Here in the US even if the person was in the wrong they would have sued the owner for damages.

That's true, we're such a litigious country! When I lived in Arizona, they put up speed cameras on a freeway. Hundreds of people sped past the cameras and showed their butts! The courts had tons of pictures of people's behinds--even the drivers would hang their fannies out the window going 90mph! Crazy people out there, must be the heat!

Thats what he got. Two bad fate in a row. He was injured and he need to pay the owner of the cafe. I just wonder the glass might be of poor quality. I think and I suppose those glass window wont be easily broken.

I think in that part of the world that has been occupied for so long, it may be an old building with old glass that might be thin and brittle. The windows in my attic are like that, my house is 85 years old and those windows are at least half that! They make stronger glass nowadays.
