If You Could Teach your Mate One Thing

If you could teach your mate to do one thing, what would it be? I would definately teach my husband to remove his shoes in the house! I'm not a fenatic about it or anything (I don't have guests remove their shoes)but it would be nice if my family did! How do people get their family to do it! They see me vaccuuming multiple times a day-in fact they make fun of my many floor cleaning gadgets! They do it for a couple of days when I go off on them for making a mess, then its back to their same old habits! What would you teach your mate?

I've been working on training my guy for three years, and we've made a little progress. One thing that I'd love him to learn is that, when the dishwasher is empty, you can put dishes in there, rather than pile them in the sink. I'd also like him to learn that his towel gets mildewy if he wads it up somewhere rather than hanging it. I'm sure there are other things, but he's actually pretty good. After a few more years, he'll be the perfect house man. :)

I'm still trying to train my husband after 12 years to fold clothes the right way.He was in the Military for 8 years and had to cram all of his clothes into a sea bag by rolling them up.He tells me that is the better way of doing it.So now he is banned from all laundry duties.I love this discussion. Thanks for letting me vent.

I'm with you on the folding thing! I complain to my husband about the way he folds the towels all the time-to no avail. He seems to think that since he's doing me a "favor" I shouldn't complain! Heck, I'd rather do it myself! I like the closet to look neat by having all the towels folded the same way.

My hubby is who he is. I don't think I would ever be successful TEACHING anything to him. I can suggest, or even nag. It doesn't work. Then I feel guilty, because my guy truly is one of a kind. He is wonderful all the way around. I try and remember that.

Some days it seems as if I'm vaccuuming all day. SO I hear ya with the shoes. But If I could teach my fiance one thing, it would be the art of message therapy. Ya know, how to feel those knots and the correct way to get rid of them. I love his rubs and messages, but when he's done, I feel the same as before he starts. I've had chronic pain for 9 years, so a little "free" relief would be extra nice. Then I wouldn't mind vaccuuming behind him and the kids so much:)
