Do People Who Post One Discussion After Another Irritate You?

Just out of curiosity, I was wondering if people who post one discussion after another irritate you? I'm not talking about one discussion a day, but one every 10 minutes or so? I haven't quite made up my mind about this. If the topics are all interesting and "good" topics it doesn't seem to bother me much. I think it's just those who post odd questions and statements one right after another. For example someone post's 10 new discussions in 30 minutes about if you can touch your nose or not, or if you enjoy breathing. I think it's those that just seem silly to me. But what do you think?

I ignore t hose types. I can't say that they really bother me but they do take up space and time in trying to shuffle past them to something worthwhile to spend time on. getting rid of them would also be time consuming so I just ignore them and know they'll eventually fade away.

it really depends....there are some on here that post many discussions that are really interesting. the ones that post a bunch of nonsense posts do eventually fade away. Those that post many with substance...well they give us all something to read and post to so they are valuable...right? I know of a couple on here that start oh so many discussions per day but they are all well thought out and interesting so ...no problem. I guess it all depends on the poster.

It depends if the discussions are good then they are to be admired im lucky if I can think of one good one a week!! But the constant rubbish of letters that dont mean anything or just nothing that can be discussed yes thats rather irritating especially if the title hints at something more interesting lol

I agree. The whole thing is based on the quality of discussions posted.I also think that they are pretty much doing themselves a disfavour because eventually people will not even bother to read the posts. Stick to quality and the numbers should come down or become self justified

I definitely prefer quality over quantity. I know that some posters who start one every ten minutes or so do this because they are only here at certain times of the day so they do their postings all at once. What bugs me more than anything is when these high volume people don't go back and respond to people who participated in their discussion.

I have noticed some people who do this and it seems like a hobby or an avocation or even a passion to them to write discussion after discussion as though some demon was making them do it. Kidding aside, I do try not to look at these discussions too much or too intently for fear that I might have a negative experience here at mylot. I am enjoying my time here and if other people prefer another way of doing mylot then I say, good luck to you. Cheers!!

I wouldnt say it irritates me but i do find it rather sad as they are they are trying to hard and most of the discussions that they do post are totally irrelevant, i tend to only post discussions myself when i have a relevent question to ask or something that i need advise on.

well we all know the reason behind them posting so many discussions,ie,money..we also do the same thing and if we come to know that others are gettin irritated then will we be interested in posting any discussion?? we should accept the fact that we come to learn many things from such discussions...

Yeah, but your not going to earn a ton of money on mylot so why flood out all the other "good" discussions with nonsense?

If you dont find any good post, you cana slo start posting new thraeds isnt it? sometimes, we do struggle in finding good discussions around and tend to spend more time searching for that and i feel, on these times, we can post our own discussions and whe comments comes we can reply back to those people who have commented isnt it?

That really upsets me and it is on the myLot digest a lot of the time and everyone seems to answer them. I have to rack my brain to find out an answer and make the responses as interesting as possible. I find it very hard to do. Why the last few days most of the new posts were from one or two people and most of them were rather inane. I wish mylotters would consider that they would get paid more if they posted something that takes a bit of thought in writing rather than a silly question about color of eyes, whether you leave the toilet seat up (spursions on your hygiene) etc.

I guess they believe that the more they post the more money they will make, I was told that I can post 20 times a day if no one or very few respond to them then it gets me no where. I don't post too often, have had some good responses then some with only a few responses, it is hard to make a post as so many have already made something to most of the thoughts you have in posting here, you need a really interesting item that will bring in the responses. If you just post Can you touch your nose, dont' think that would get them much in the way of payment because they don't make it as descriptive as possible, but some just do it I guess to take up time on here. I just usually skip over such descussions, as there is no expaination to go with it, CAN I TOUCH MY NOSE, with what my finger or my toes? LOL

Well, there might be a "reason" for that. I know some people (myself too occasionally) who write out discussions in advance. So if this particular person feels like posting e.g. 10 discussions today, he will post all of them one after another perhaps. Since he has everything already written out, why not? For me, I try to s-t-a-g-g-e-r my discussions. I don't post many usually. I know some days I am on a roll and I post maybe 5 but that's like once in a purple moon. Usually it is just 1 or 2 or really, none. Even if I post more than a few, I try to post them at different times too. I only post them all together when I have to log off right away.

I bet when you do post, your discussions aren't simple on line questions that have ridiculous answers. But your right though, thats what they could be doing. And it's not a bad way to go about it. I always forget what I want to start a discussion about...

I don't find people posting one discussion after another irritating, but I don't understand why they do so and I find them silly. I mean instead of starting ten new discussions in 30 minutes, they can respond to more than 10 discussions in that span of time. And, I guess they hardly get good number of responses as compared to the number of newly started discussions by them.

It is annoying. I try to not post more than one discussion per my interest. I think about things during the day that I think would start an interesting discsussion. Then whenever I get time to sit down and write them they are all new and fresh and different. I like to think I am a pretty interesting person. I tend to remember small details and think about things in a new way. I'd like to think I am not one of those people who is just posting to post for of thing. I think it is good for me to get everything down and out. I feel better after I share my opinions on MyLot. This is a pretty cool place.

It is irritating to me. I hate it because they're usually the same, one line discussions written with horrible grammar and spelling. It just really bugs me. I wish they'd post like normal people. I don't mind when people actually think about the things they post, but when they post the same things that have been done before I just want to tell them to pack it up and go home.

Yes and No, depending on my mood. If it gets too much then I turn of the email notification and answer only a few. There are several on my friends list that post and post and post, some really interesting and some not so interesting which I just pass on by. What gets me though is that they have lots of time to post their own, but not enough time to answer your response nor do they have time to answer their friends discussions, because they are too busy posting their own and then make the excuse that they have too many discussions to catch up on - go figure!!!

animemom sometimes I get a little bothered when someone posts ten discussions in ten minutes and they are all just old repeats like what flavor ice cream do you 'like, what color do you like etc. no real brain power used to make a meaty discussion.otherwise I am okay with whatever people do.

Yeah, I'm not sure irritate is the word I'd use either. I saw one yesterday where they had apparently made a list of what they wanted to ask and then began to plug in their discussions. They numbered them and their goal was apparently 101 discussions for the day. So, the subject was 33. And the body of the discussion started with 33/101. In one respect, I think it's pretty cool to make a list before going online so that you're already organized and don't have to wrack your brain to think of something. But, it's a tad annoying when they're all being posted at once and some in more than one interest area (although it may apply to more than one area). And, the fact that they've numbered them....well, that's just a tad anal, I think. I would think that they could simply cross them off their list when they've posted them. So, it might be better if they made the list today and began posting tomorrow, but don't do them all at once. Do some in the morning, some at lunch, some after dinner, some before bedtime. Then, you haven't bugged anyone, yet you've managed to achieve your goal (if it's that large of a goal). But, I do like the idea of coming up with ideas for discussions before starting to type.

It's a neat idea to write down what you want to start a discussion about before doing it. Mine are normally "fly by the seat of my pants" type of thing.

Hi, Yeah, I could understand If the post were worth while then it would not bother me as much. I also notice sometimes that the ones with just simple asking questions get the most answers. Now that bothers me. I am sure they are not making much money on here , since mylot is all about effort. I just sometimes don't get why people waste their time on those . Must be younger kids maybe .From time to time I will keep my post simple and sweet. to each their own I say. Have a good rest of the day

It does irritate me when they do the "can you touch your nose or not" or "do you enjoy breathing" well unless they say I am suppose to ask 100 people for my science class if they can do this. But just to post no that bothers me. I mean if one would actually post a nice discussion they would have some responses. I know this isn't always true because I have started some that I thought everyone would have an opinion or something to add and it didn't work out that way. I try to put some thought into my discussions and make people think but sometimes I do just want someone to answer my question because I can't find it on the internet, or I have questions about mylot that I don't know where to begin. But for some reason I can't think of 10 questions in 30 minutes about different subjects, I'm a mother my brain doesn't work that fast anymore.
