My Neighbors House Was On Fire After They Left For Vacation

I went outside and was getting some sun that morning. My neighbors had just left for Florida. I saw some smoke but at first it looked like it may had been 1 of the neighbors burning something behind his house which he does. Then I noticed the smoke looked like it was too wide just to be burning something behind the house. They were already gone to so there should have not been any smoke. I went up their hill a somewhat and realized the smoke was coming from the roof. I called 911 and they had so many fireman and police that it blocked my neighborhood road for a long distance. Since the smoke was coming from the roof they had to saw a whole in the roof to get to the smoke. The flames started coming out of the roof. They eventually put the fire out and put plastic to seal up the roof hole. The firemen said it was their water heater that started the fire. Some of my neighbors went up the hill to see how much the home was damaged and they said everything was ruined. I'm glad I was around so the fire didn't spread or else alot of houses could have burnt down including mine. I don't know. What do you think insurance money. No, just a joke. I'm not going to make accusations.

Wow...that's sad to hear. The Fire department would surely investigate further to figure out. That was indeed some lessons to learn and checking twice or more is always good as my mum often say. It was a good thing that you were there and prevented further damages.

LOL. That was what I thought when I saw the headline. It is unfortunate that this happen while they were away, but God was on their side so that you were there to stop that mountainous disaster that would have happen. If this is about the money then your neighbours right know would have been saying what a inquisitive neighbour you are lol. Well it is just great that you were there. Can you imagine that someone would be doing something like this, just for the money and creating havoc to another, suppose you were not there and you come home to see your house on fire. Well let's give God thanks that never happen.
Continue to be the caring neighbour that you are.

They probably left thinking everything was okay.
A water heater is often a cause of fires for
some reason, maybe there was something flamable
close to the heater and it just caught on fire.
of course I imagine that the firemen will check
for any evidence of arson as a matter of course.
What a thing for your neighbors to come back to,
a fire that ruined all their belongings. wow.
You were really to be commended for your quick
thinking in calling the fire departmentthus
'probably saving a lot of homes.

Your neighbors are lucky to have you looking out for them. However, it is very easy for even a small fire to destroy everything in the house. Think, what is not on fire is quickly soaked by the firemen's hoses.
