This is either going to suck...or be great (another jury discussion)

Well I just called the recording number to get my information...and it said that the group number I am in has to call a number the day we are suppose to go to court to see if we still have to go. Now, that would be great if the recording next time we called said we don't have to go! But than again, if I find out the day of the jury selection that I still have to come...that'll really suck! Because I have to wait until 11am to call, and I sleep during the day (work at night). So if I end up still having to go...they are totally stopping me from getting any sleep beforehand! That's just harsh! Anyone know if having the recording say that means I most likely won't be going? Or it could really go either way?

Yes all that happened to me too, the two times I had to go and do jury duty I just sat in the jury waiting room and never got called to even go up for selection...two wasted days...

Well actually I don't have to go to the court to see if they need me. the day of the "court date" I have to call them again and see if they are going to need me or not. I have to call the same number I just did and they will either give me a time to come on that same day, or tell me I don't need to go to the court at all.

yep I had to do all that then still didn't get picked for a case, they have so many in the pool to pick from...

oh good! Then I hope I don't get picked either! lol. And if I don't...the second I hear the recording say "don't come.." I'm going to fall flat on my bed and sleep! lol.

IT could have gone either way, sorry I missed this until now. How did it go? Did you end up going to court or did you get out of it?

Gee, that all sounds so hard. Too bad if you need to travel. This all sounds terribly difficult, they're not giving you much chance to get organised. People doing night shift should be exempt. Don't you think?

Yeah I defeniatly think people working nights shouldn't have to go! It totally messes up our sleeping scedule, so we'll be exhausted at work. And once my sleep scedule gets messed up...it takes me FOREVER to get it right again! And it gets so stressful when you can't fall asleep lol. But I actually didn't have to go this time, I was released! yay :) lol.

My roomie just got a jury summons. But yesterday she got an email saying that her summons was dismissed. That means that the people probably settled. The weird thing is that so one she knows is/was going to court that week too.

Well I just hate not knowing until the day they expect me to go to the courts! It's going to be like...I call at 11am and they tell me I have to be there by noon! That would just suck! Plus, I was hoping to get my dad to drive me since parking sucks--and I can't ask my dad because I don't know if I'm going or not, and when I am going!

"I ended up not having to go!" Well that's good. I was wondering where this discussion went, I thought I replied to it, but I guess not. Anyways, grats on getting out of jury duty Lily!
