I heard that some do not vaccinate their children b/c they think it will harm them in some way, for example causing autism. What do you think? If you believe that it is best not to vaccinate what are your reasons?

I had my children vaccinated but I don't know if that is what lead to my son's autism or not. My other two were also vaccinated and they are not autistic. I really feel that the government needs to research this more to find out.

Thanks for your response. I don't think the vaccines lead to austism because even newborns can demonstate signs of autism, before they are ever vaccintated. But I agree that much research is needed as to what causes Autism.

In Ohio babies have their first vaccination before they leave the hospital and my son has Asperger's which is on the Autism Spectrum but they tend to be classified as high functioning. Lastly my son is 10 and he wasn't diagnosed until this year, and yes I had him to specialist after specialist trying to find someone that would tell me why he was different than my other children.

Well some researchers are saying that they can see some signs of Autism as young as 5/8 months in babies... I don't know much about that, but I do know you are vaccinated before you even hit 5 months... your first vaccination is as early as 24 hrs after birth...

NO, I don't think it causes Autism. There have been studies where one Autistic child in a family was vaccinated but the sibling, who was NOT vaccinated was also Autistic. So there seems to be some genetic cause. Interesting question though.

I agree with ZephyrSun... My son is Autistic & I'm not sure if the vaccines are the cause, but I sometimes wonder because we really didn't start seeing signs of Autism until after his MMR vaccine. But I can't really say.. I will say that I do believe there is a link with vaccines & Autism. I feel that if the vaccines don't cause Autism, then they might be triggering it. That could be why only some have Autistic signs & others don't. Just like only some catch the flu & some don't. I know they say that even infants also show signs of Autism & that could be true, but the minute your born, you are vaccinated. They vaccinated my son within 24 hrs after he was born. So who is to really say? I think the government has it's facts & knows the truth already, but they wont ever tell us the truth... This will be a debate for years to come...
