I've been in Japan for a few times and one thing I have observed is,they don't comb their hair while walking on the street, specially girl.I did asked this question to my friend and was told that, because it will caused the drainage to stuck and will overflow. Now then I realized it yesterday because our kitchen sink was overflowing.I suspect that their are lots of small stuff got stuck on the pipe.I did put some liquid chemicals but still not working.Until my wife told me that why is it that the bathroom floor is also overflowing, they have series pipe line and I went outside to check out.Luckily, the end of pipe is open, so I get a long sticks and put it inside the pipe, after push and pull of sticks, then finally got the stuffs causing the overflow, and you know what,I've got plenty of falling hairs in their which cause the overflow. So,I did told to my family to avoid putting falling hair in the bathroom floor drainage. If you have the same experience, you better check this out and be aware of the falling hair.Thank you.

I am a bit confused of your wording, and therefore ask that you clarify for me what you mean. I am unsure as to whether you mean "they do comb their hair while on the street" or not. Hair can get into the pipes by not only a floor drain but also a bathroom shower drain. Little Hairs from shaving legs, arm pits, etc as well as washing hair can cause the drain to pack up. I am glad that you found the source of your problem, though, and that it was fixed. Awaiting your clarification, I hope you have a great day.

I think he means that Japanese girls don't bother to comb their hair even when they go out - walking on the streets.

In our bathroom there are a strainer over the hole that whenever we wash our hair or bath the hair is caught on it. This prevent clog. Maybe you can put one in your bathroom if you do not have one before. Or you do not want one of these while cleaning the bathroom you can use one of those over the counter chemical that is use to unclog drain. Even in the kitchen this is use because there are times when small food particles are caught in the drain, so this is very handy to have in the house.

We do also have strainer but I did observed that it was not enough since it has a big hole so I guess I need to change it into a small one.

They make little things like strainers that fit right into your sink drain or bathtub to catch hair and other little things before they go down the drain. They don't cost much. Maybe you can find something like that to use.

You're right. That would be the best possible solution to at least if not remove the hair fall.

Hey that is something new to me. Now I know why JApanese always have a bad hair day. LOL Anyways, I also notice that in our bathroom it is really common to pipes get clogged and it's always because of hair. But i think it's hard to avoid to put hair on the floor of bathroom since while taking a bath it will fall. I myself didn't give a look at the drainage once i went out of the bathroom. So I might only ask the maid to do it for me. Anyways, thanks!
