What are some creative ways my boyfriend can keep a relationship with his daughters who moved from northern to southern california about a year ago?

If you have a webcam & your boyfriend has a webcam - try making certain times or days where everyone is online at the same time. Then all you have to do is use MSN or any of the other messengers that are webcam compatible & they can chat online together & actually be able to see each other as well - if you throw in microphones then it's voice & visual contact! Postcards are a good idea - as are letters or if you have a cassette recorder (i know it's a little older) you could get your girls to record a letter to their dad & then have him send one back - they can hear each other that way too! Other than modern technology i'm not really sure. There's always video calls on cell phones & things like that :) If you have a compatible phone for something like that!

Well, one way to keep in touch would be to use something like MySpace or Facebook. Both are networking sites and your boyfriend can keep in touch with his girls as well as learn about things that are going on in their lives through both of these websites. Another way would be to use postcards. I know that it sounds silly but I think that sending postcards back and forth makes it seem like they are just on vacation and not moved away. I do not know how old the children are but if they are somewhat young, then they would also enjoy the pictures that are on the postcards. My mother in law keeps in touch with our children by sending them little cards about once a week or so just to say hello and i am thinking about you. Every once in a while she will put a small charm in the card so that they can make a necklace out of it. Hope that this helps!

Thank you again, they are actually 13 and 15. He has sent them his e-mail address but had never received a response. I do like the post card idea though and I think we will try it!!

No problem! I always thought that the postcard idea was a neat one - especially for the younger kids. I have to admit though, even at 28 years old, I still think that it would be neat to get a postcard in the mail =)

I also really think a webcam is a great idea. That way they can still see dad even if he's far away. Because he lives so far from them try to set up the same time each week, work it out with the girls' mom so that he can see them once a week and kinda find out how lifes going. He can also make a different time for each daughter so they can feel like they are spending personal time with dad even if he's not there with them. Another way is to write them letters. Send them little email greeting cards. He can also sign up for whatever instant messenger the girls have and talk to them on there. Of course, try to get them up to his house as much as possible! Hope this helps.
