Going To The Park!

Canada
June 8, 2008 12:33pm CST
The last two mornings I have taken my son to the park and we have had a wonderful time! Today we both swang on the swing together with him on my lap and he pushed me on the swing too! I also went down the slide and he counted and told me when to go! So, how often do you take your child(ren) to the park? What do you do with them when you go there or do you just sit and watch? I don't have a back yard so I often feel like I don't take my son to the park often enough! I've made up for it this week-end! So share your park stories with me! ~Heavens~

The park - a group of kids I took to the park!
Oh honey I am sure you both had a ball! I used to take the kids to the park a lot and it was really funny but we would end up taking huge armies of kids! lol I haven't been able to take them for a while but when I did still go I used to join in and have fun! We are lucky that we have a back garden and have a large grassy area just a few doors away where both weemam and other neighbours can see they are ok! I am attaching a photo of one outing to the park a few years ago - everyone in that frame was with me and there were others on different appararus! lol

Looks like fun Mo! I made a comment on the photo also! we did enjoy ourselves today...I put him on my lap and held on tight and then we both swang in the swing together! He counted to ten and then told m,e to "Go!" down the slide...it was great!!! ~Heavens~

LOL Yep David is there! Niall is there too - closest to David but this was a few years ago when Niamh was still in her buggy! Sounds like you and your little man had a real 'swinging' time (sorry for the awful pun) and it definitely sounds as though he is coming along in leaps and bounds! xxx

I should take my little girl to the park more. It sounds like you had the perfect day. She usually plays in our small backyard. My honey is going to put up a fence in the side yard and that will give her more space to roam, because the yard will be blocked off and she can't run out into the front yard or street. She has lots of fun. Sounds like your son has fun too!

Thanks lingli! I am sure you will make a wonderful Mother some day Yes my time with my son is often very limited due to work schedule and his therapy/school schedule so I cherish every moment I can grab! ~Heavens~

I just took my youngest three boys to the park today. We had a blast! We went up and down the slides and on a zip line thing over and over again. I am amazed at how brave my two year old is!

We have a backyard with a swing set and huge sandbox, but we go at least once every couple of weeks. When there is particularly beautiful day we will go. I love a nice walk to the park on a beautiful day.

we don't get to the park as often as i would like. i have 3 small kids under 6 so its hard for me to take them by myself. i'm terrified that one of them will take off or get taken by someone when i'm dealing with the others. we have a backyard they can play in so i take them outside as much as i can. i usually just watch them play. i'm a little too big for the stuff at the playground, plus with having 3 i like to be able to jump at a moments notice if something happens.

I don't get to the park with my boy as often as I would like either due to the fact that I work outside of the home and he has Autism and so a very busy schedule with school and therapy etc. That is why I decided to take him yesterday and today...besides, he has been so good lately! I can understand with having three kids how busy they would be on the play ground...You would have to have eyes in the back of your head!! I have the luxury of devoting my attention just to my boy and it is nice...We have a great time together! ~Heavens~

I don't take my kids to the park as often as they would like because we live in the country and I would have to drive them to the park. I will sometimes stop at the park before we go to the grocery store though and let them play and feed the birds. I normally sit back and watch as my son pushes my daughter on the swing and helps her up the slide.

I grew up in the country and so it was the same with me...My parents would take me into town as often as they could to play on the playground equipment but I had a swing set at home...unfortunately no slide or climbing bars though! I got use of all that stuff when I was at school and that had to do for me! ~Heavens~

I take my two girls as often as I can but it has to be when their dad is home as I dont drive and its way to far to walk there. We do have a back garden though which is huge so they have plenty of place to run and they have a slide and sand box and small trampoline and bikes etc so they have just as much fun out in the garden. We spent half the day out there today but it was far too hot and I had to make them come inside in the end

I don't drive either kezabelle but thankfully there are two parks fairly close by...I just don't let my boy play in the sand there....If it weren't for these parks, my boy would have nothing as I live in a four unit apartment building and the back is a parking lot while the front goes right out to the sidewalk and there is no where appropriate for outdoor play! I am glad that you have a garden with all those things for your children to play with! It is my dream to have that for my son one day but hope is slim!!! ~Heavens~
