Where did I put the darn key?

I was going to put some money in our safe that we have. It's where we put "extra" money just in case it's needed for an emergency. Well, tonight I can't find the key. I thought i had it in a dresser drawer, but it's not there! I found where I have the combination for the safe, but it needs a key as well to get into it. Then I thought I hid it in my son's room, but I just ramsacked that and still nothing. This is driving me crazy! It's now 2 am and I still can't find the key. I don't think i can fall asleep until I find it.
I'm hoping that in a few hours maybe i'll remember where the heck I hid it.
Have you ever misplaced something that you hid on purpose and then couln't remember where the secret place was?

I have done that before also. I hide my checkbook or money when we have people coming over. I do not want to leave it laying around for people to take something out of it look through it or something like that. I have hid my money and stuff before and forgot where the heck that I put it. I change the places I hide things sometimes and I get confused as to the last place that I hid it. I also hide Christmas receipts also and cannot find them until some time later also. I have also hid Easter Eggs but then when we hunt them, there is always some missing after we count them up from the ones that were found.

Yeah, I have outsmarted myself many times. My hiding places are so good even I can't find them. I will give up looking for something and days, weeks, months later...in some random place I will find what I was looking for. Totally frustrating. Ha. I usually try to back track. Think of the last time I had the item and go from there. GOOD LUCK and I hope you are not up too much longer tonight!

I have done it good this time! I can't remember for the life of me WHERE i put them! I'm going insane looking. I've relooked in every place over and over again!
It sucks because I've gotten rid of alot of stuff, and I hope they didn't slip out too!
Or, I hope I didn't hide them--- and then found them by mistake and wondered what they were for and tossed them out or something.
I have had that safe for years, and I've always remembered where the keys were. THis is so odd for me. I'm not forgetful!

I hope it's still in the house. Last week I lost my key when it fell out of my computer case on the way to or from the coffee shop where I get most of my work done. At 11:30 at night, with no hope of finding that dang key, I ended up staying in a motel for the night. I eventually found my keys. Someone had picked them up in the parking lot, and tossed them infront of my apartment door, since the number of my apt was written on the mailbox key.

I'm glad you got your keys back, but that sucks that you couldn't find them. Thank god the person didn't try to use the keys!
Ive looked high and low for these safe keys, and I have no more places to look. I've rechecked, and checked again and I'm driving myself crazy about it. I ordered new keys today so hopefully they will get here and work, and hopefully I wont lose them again. I hope i do find the old ones soon though--- I'm so curious about where I hid them! LOL

I wish I knew and could tell you. Have you cheked the laundry? Maybe you stuck it in our pocket? Just an idea.
Oh and my mom was famous for this...her keys were always in the fridge. She would get home and start putting away groceries and then couldn't find her keys.
