Do you believe that you are the master of your destiny, that everything can be controlled by our choices, or is it the other way around?

great topic to discuss, but i dont think there are many people around the world who r master of their destiny ,everyaction is dependent on another so its really very tough to think like this.I do agree that a part of it is true but abt 100% I don't agree.

I agree with you, but sometimes don't you get the feeling that you have the power over your destiny? There are times that I do. And that is what infuriates me. That is destiny's way of teasing me. thanks for the post.

I think control of our destiny is relative thing. There are, for example, certain things that we do not have control over. If we did, you find that every businessman would be making millions, every farmer would be have a bountiful harvest and so on. However, I think that in many cases, we do have more choice than we realise when we make decisions. How often have we heard the phrase, "But I have no choice?" Well if you get the people who think they have no choice to analyse they're decisions, they'll find that they had more choice than they anticipated. For example, I've been in situations when I've taken on bad jobs because I felt that I had "No Choice," because I needed the money and was broke and things looked bleak. However, after looking back, I've found that I could have made a different choice. Yes, I would have not had the money from the job but I would have had the option to look for something else.

I think with what you said about the busienessman and farmers, destiny somehow maintains a balance in this world like a status quo to limit people. Thanks for sharing your idea though.

God already has our destiny in mind. Yes our decisions have consequences, when we choose one thing it caues something to happen, and it affets everything we do. Good or bad,and it affects more people other than ourselves. God does give a choice, and those choices will affect us the rest of our lives.

Come to think of it, if God already has a will for us do we really have a free will? If God has a plan, then your choice is already a part of His plan. Then who's will is it really?
