As I am getting older, I am becoming forgetful. Specially when I have to think a lot and do a lot of work. I also observe that I become more forgetfull when I am stressed. Are you becoming forgetful as age grow? If so, how do you cope with it?

I worry about alzheimer's all the time, even though I'm not old enough to get it yet *knock on wood*. But I forget the silliest things and it drives me crazy and completely stresses me out. For example, I'll put my ipod somewhere just so I can change my clothes to go for a walk, and when I'm ready for my walk, I can't find my ipod anywhere! I scour every single room, underneath furniture, in cabinets, in dressers. And where do I find it? On the top shelf of my closet. Where I put it as I changed clothes. I don't know how to cope with it other than just letting it go and realizing everyone has their moments.

The though of me suffering Alzheimer makes me smile. It would be very challenging then, battling with the disease. Accordingly, there are many ways to cope with forgetfulness. Since yours has something to do with lossing things, try to maintain order such assingning things to its specific places. Well, since Alzheimer would inevitable in the future, let's start making our own name and address on our necklaces as early as posssible. lol

Hi Ronslove - thank you for your suggestion! Actually I do try to put things in regular spots all the time. But, ironically enough, that has caused problems for me because the one time I don't put it in it's proper spot, that's when I'll forget where I put it. Everything should have a homing device installed in it, that way I could just press a beeper specified to that item and find it. K ind of like a cordless phone. Heh!

I'm very forgetful and I'm still young. I get forgetful when I do nothing for a long time. I've been getting more and more forgetful ever since I finished college. My mind is no longer challanged to think. This site is helping me keep my mind sharp, though. I'm thankful for it.

I agree, writing helps us refresh our mind by doing some brain storming. I think a piece of literature are thoughts inscribe in words. But, my dear, staying forgetfull could be harmful you know. Try to find ways to cope it. I hope you are not forgetting neccessities in life. And surely, don't do ever forget to breath. hehe
