Hi Nupats, My plan always works. What I do is to get all the things ready for the curry or any dish I am preparing. After adding them into the curry, I keep everything back as I use them. So all my things are available easily as and when I need it and I also don't use it twice. So if the masala or salt is missing then I'll know that I have put it in. I never let this double addition happen to me. It had happened many times before, so I started using this method. After starting on this method I have not had to prepare twice. For correction, add tomato puree if it is a tomato based dish or add coconut paste or rice flour.. You can also put in a cut potato and simmer till the potato takes the extra salt off. Then throw away the potato or use it in someother dish. All the best

Dear Nupats, Not only you, all of us are victims. We keep doing this but we never will find a way to get out of this habit. I tried this idea and I could get along with it easily, even when I have somebody in the kitchen talking to me, I will not get distracted. So try to follow a rule which is acceptable to you. It is easy and soon it becomes a habit.

Oh, that happens to me lots. I forget and get busy and happy and go to town on the spices. I put too much hot sauce on the noodles tonight. I don't even know why I used hot sauce. The recipe didn't need it. I just did it without thinking. It happens. It's OK! I'm sure the rice was fine. You're doing fine. There will be other dishes. I promise!

Boil some potatoes and add it to the gravy and let it be in there for a couple of hours. After that you can remove the potatoes. The gravy will taste less salty after that.

Such mistakes happen and it's just human. Rather than worrying too much, think about how to solve it. One approach is to make some more curry without salt -if you do not have more prawns use veggies-, mix 'm up, put one half in the freezer for a next meal.
