You can find paid surveys from websites such as http://paidopps.blogspot.com or http://cashqueen.wordpress.com. These sites generally have payment proof which will enable you to be more selective when choosing websites to sign up to and will help you distinguish legitimate sites from scams. I suggest you take a look at some of these.
As for sites which I am a personal member of, you should try SurveySavvy. I've heard it's one of the best for generating income but I haven't received any surveys in the few days I've been a member there yet. YouGov is quite good for UK members and I've also recently signed up to Ipsos. As for posting referral links, I'm not sure if we're actually allowed to here...

This site only pays you to $4 0r £4 just to signup & is free!
It has a database of legit sites apart from its own surveys.
It occasionally sends you paid invitation to join sites on its database or other non-survey sites.
It is the best free site our there.

I've been paid by Lightspeed Panel and Mysurvey NFO. I was a member of both a long time ago, but my accounts got deleted for some reason. I just recently signed up again for both and have gotten paid already for Lightspeed and I have requested a payment already for NFO, but it hasn't arrived yet as they pay you with a check. I am also a member of two other sites that say they pay, but I am still new and I haven't either qualified for a payment or have been credited for a payment.

I didn't have the same problem with signing up for Lightspeed Panel. My only problem with them, so far, is their severe lack of customer service. But, they're not the only survey site to have that problem.
Of course you're not going to make a lot of money doing survey sites. I've heard of one person making 1000 a month doing it, but I wonder how honest she is when she fills them out. And, 1000 a month is not enough money to really pay the bills.
I do these for fun and a little money on the side like Mylot. I want to help these people with their research, so I am going to answer honestly. If I don't qualify, then I don't qualify. At least with MySurvey, I get points when I don't qualify.

I looked at Lightspeed Panel yesterday but I found myself stuck inside a labyrinth of links, and I couldn't actually figure out where to sign up - although I was actually re-directed to the site for United Kingdom residents and that might be different.
In response to the original poster, I haven't found paid surveys to be a reliable source of income. Often, I'll sit through an entire survey before being told I don't qualify. Unless you can guarantee that you would receive surveys that you qualify for on a regular basis, I think you would be better off using P.T.C services and buying some referrals if you can afford to do so.

Visit my profile. You will find the referral link for inbox dollars, cash crate where you can take surveys and they pay you money. I have not reached minimum payout yet.

when we are geting money by surways it is a knowledgebal informations by which we earn money. reading survey is a interesting job and if we are geting money by reading surveys it is good for us.we should try to expand these concept with maximum people so that they can take advantages of it.

there are students whom are interested in earning money as a part time work but they are facing problemes in earning .here through the earning sites they can easily earn there pocket money without hard work. we need some other earning sites which can help the students to earn extra money.
