Are there any Tool fans here? Music is one of the most important influences in my life. It has molded who I am; my thought process, my inquisitive nature, and my love for life. Tool has been the most influetial of the thousands of bands that I listen to. What about you?

Tool is one of those bands that grows on you, they write such interesting music that you can't help but be drawn in by their mysterious sound. I wrote a review on their "10,000 Days" CD on RoughEdge.com I thought it was one of their best and I know the next one will be just as good, problem is you have to wait so long for them to release a disc.

I also wrote a 10,000 days review for Ciao and Dooyoo, but it wasn't as good as any of my other reviews and I plan to write a better version now that I have studied the album more. I may write it at RoughEdge, we'll see, but my good reviews actually make me decent money so I may write two versions, a short less detailed one for there and a longer more detailed one for Helium or some place that will pay me. I haet to act arrogant, but a few of my reviews have made me a bit of money. Especially the review I wrote for Tools album "Aenima", which is my favorite peice and my best in my opinion. I don't mind the wait. It's is not a problem for me as the result is pure literal genius. The total IQ of the 4 band members is well over 500, maybe even 525-550, but not only is that incorporated into Maynards song writing, but implemeted in the instrumentation. The spiritual (not religious, far from it actually) element throughout their music and especially the last two albums, just accents the music even more. Maynards voice has sent feelings through me and has made me cry on many ocassions and that is before focusing on his lyrics. As I have said many times before and can't stress enough, he has the perfect, flawless baritone vibrato voice and the range never falters. It does something to the soul and triggers the chemical and bio-electric synapses in the brain and it just eradicates my dopamine.

You know, oddly there are very few people in myLot who listen to Tool...i started a discussion when 10000 days was out asking what people thought about it n' the first reply was 'This music makes me sick' LOL..no idea how anyone can hate the literary genius of Maynard...the looong windy rhythmic Lateralus album should be preserved in some kind of library or something for future generations.

Yes, Maynard has been one of the main influence on my inquisitive nature and thought process for the last 16 or 17 years, it is hard for some people to understand those of us who's minds have evolved far past the quota and expectations of society, for those of us who are truly free enough to question everything it is hard. Besides, Maynards operatic baritone vibrato voice makes me cry at times and that makes me feel good. It sends shivers through my body.
