homeade chili/taco seasoning. It smells wonderful. I usually use a seasoning packet. Do you make you own?Or use the pre-packed stuff?

I make my own. I bought the packets for years, but I have everything in the cabinet to make my own, so that is what I have been doing for about 6 months.

My older sister once made some noise about how silly it is that people buy packets of say, gravy mix or pudding mix because she says it's really easy to make yourself. So long as she doesn't expect me to start making my own clothes, I'll be fine. :)

I wouldn't know where to start. However, if I were to look on the internet, I'm sure I could find some advice. I'm sure it's not hard if you just take the time to learn.

I do both, I make it and also buy the chili seasoning packets to add to my chili when I don't feel like making it up because I make it as I use it. I like the packets they seem to have the right amount of everything in them and your not having to taste test alot like when I do my own..add a little of this and little of that and a pinch her and there.

I usually make my own...well, by that I mean I toss in the ingredients of what would make up a seasoning mix. But, I have to say I recently made a recipe and it used a mix. The chili was the BEST TASTING chili I've ever had in my life. Seriously. I am going to add a can of tomato soup next time just because it was way too thick for us. The recipe I used is this one: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Debdoozies-Blue-Ribbon-Chili/Detail.aspx

I make my own from scratch. Takes awhile but I make a big batch and freeze some in tupperware for latter. I don't think I could handle the seasoning packets. Have you ever looked at what they put in there? Good Luck! tdemex

Sounds delicious! I'll have to go and see what a homemade taco/chili seasoning is made out of, because I am now very curious. Usually, when I make tacos or chili, I use a combination of herbs, chili powder, and tomato bouillon to season it with.
