The other day my 20 year old roommate said that from the age of 8 to 10 years old, she smoked a half pack of cigarettes a day. She claims she was stealing them from her dad. She lived with both parents and four siblings, including a twin sister. She says that after two years, she quit cold turkey. Tell me about the most unbelievable lie you have ever heard.

I've heard many over the years, and the most ridiculous always come from habitual liars. The most unrealistic one that I ever heard was way back in primary school, when a kid in my class said that he hated ceiling fans, because one day he saw one fall and chop a kids head off! This from a 10 yr old! If liars insist on telling lies, maybe they should try and make them more believable. Though maybe not, maybe they should concentrate on the truth!

Not only is that terrible, but a bit frightening for a child who may not no better, to have to hear. It is a bit different when a little child lies though. There is still help and hope for them. I am glad that you did not believe it though. That is the stuff nightmares are made of, hehe.

Yes, who knows, maybe the kid grew up to be an author of horror novels! I will say I was never a gullible kid, but as you say, for any others who didn't realise, it would have been horrific. I don't understand why people lie at all, it must be so stressful.
