stealing wheat, oil, and beans from starving children! That is exactly what has happened in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwean authorities STOLE 20 tons of food aid that was supposed to go to starving schoolchildren so they could have ONE meal a day. The food was then "handed out to supporters of President Robert Mugabe at a political rally". Here is a link to the full story - http://www.nytimes.com/2008/06/12/world/africa/12zimbabwe.html?th&emc=th People complain that the US and other countries are not doing enough to help feed poor children around the world. But, the true problem is that corrupt governments and other theives are stealing the food that is being sent to these children. Shame on President Mugabe and his corrupt regime! They should be made to do without food for a few days themselves.

This is not nice at all. Just reading it made me mad knowing that people would really do this. Now a days I have come not to be surprised at things that people will and will not do. If they will steal gas out of people cars cause they can't afford it then there is nothing that they will not do.

While I do not approve of stealing, I can understand when a poor person steals a basic necessity because they cannot afford it. However, this was a case of the rich blatantly stealing from the poor. The thieves were government officials - governor, police, ambassador, etc.. The people are supposed to take care of the people they govern; instead, they are taking advantage of them. And, theen, to top it all off, this same group of theives is complaining that WE aren't doing enough to help feed THEIR starving people!

I have been following this on the BBC World service. I think it is absolutely terrible what is going on over there, and I agree with you. This kind of problem needs to be stopped, and now. People are acting like wild animals!!!

Actually many wild animals will go without food so they can feed their young. These people are worse than animals!
