betting and speculation should it be made legal in cricket

hi guys,
I believe that betting should be made legal in cricket specially after seeing such a big fan following in India it can churn a huge amount of money and provide a lot of new employment oppourtunities in that field.Atleast it should be made legal in formats like 20-20 cricket which is more entertainment oriented.Such types of bets and speculations are legal in countries like U.K and U.S in all sports ofcourse it is governed by law.So i I guess it will be a good idea to statr it in India also we can start with the online format of betting just like the stock market atleast it will stop people from going to these illict betting dens and then getting caught by the police.
So I just wanna know what u guys feel about this.

You have a point, but then can it be managed well enough. If it is declared as legal then that won't guarantee the demolition of those dens your are talking about, because then there will be a lot of restriction and rules and regulations to be followed, plus the taxes.

You are absolutely right dude,but just look at th positive side of it,I mean to say the employment opp generated etc.As far as the taxes part is concerned people have to do with that just like we are habituated with taxes gradually every one will come to terms with that,and I was just discussing the same with one of my friends yesterday and he told me that it was in the papers sometime back(during ipl matches)that the BCCI and Government of India considering making betting legal for 20-20 cricket and specially for ipl matches.Anyways thanx for the response.Take care.

It is not a bad idea , however it will be faced by lots of oppposition by former cricketers and the cricketing pundits but still this is a very practical andcomplex implementation
